Collard greens anyone?

I got some collard greens to try out for our Mardi Gras dinner. Anyone have any recipes they would like to share?

Lori, my mom makes them all the time (several time per week). I’ll ask her tomorrow when I talk to her on the phone how she cooks them. I know for a fact she no longer cooks them with bacon grease like she did when I was a kid. lol Anyway, I’ll let ya know what she says. 🙂

8 cup(s) collard greens, tough stems removed (about 2 bunches)
    2 tsp olive oil
    1/2 tsp sea salt
3 large garlic clove(s), finely chopped
    1 small onion, diced

Fill a large bowl with water and place collard greens into it. Move them around with your hand to rinse well and set aside until ready to use.

Heat oil in a skillet. Gently lift collard greens out of the water and place in the skillet; sprinkle with salt and stir. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add onion and garlic and mix to thoroughly combine; cook for 2 to 3 minutes more until tender.

    Makes about 4 servings

This made me laugh because the only time I’ve purchased collard greens was to feed them to my bearded dragon, pooh. Let me know how they taste, maybe I’ll have to try them for myself sometime 🙂

Have you ever tried Rappi ? I am on a weightloss journey as well & I eat Rappi every single week….Wegmans already has it washed, & chopped. It's soooo good for you too.
