Groceries and tomorrow is race day!

Today was my rest day instead of tomorrow since John and I are doing the 5K race at 9am tomorrow.  That means bagel has to happen later!

Here is a shot of our grocery cart tonight.  I think it looks pretty healthy inside and very different from how it would have looked a few years ago:


2 kinds of yogurt – greek for me, regular for John.  He likes greek, but not as much as I do, so it’s all for me!

In today’s cart for produce:

2  # of strawberries, 1 #  of blueberries, peaches, spinach, frozen broccoli, bananas, spring lettuce mix.

I got the spinach because I am thinking of doing a green monster this week…… maybe….. if I can find the nerve.

Dark chocolate chips for treats. Yum!

    Wow, I am excited for you! Running 5k’s. I can’t wait till my running is back in full swing. I would love to start running some races before winter. And what the heck is a ‘green monster’?

    Love the grocery cart shot, that’s a great idea!! I always wonder what people are thinking when they see my groceries at the store. It usually contains enough fruit, yogurt and pita bread to feed a small army 😛

    I’m not wishing you good luck on the 5k, you don’t need it!!! 😀 Can’t wait to hear all about it!

    The cart looks good. I just wanted to encourage you to try the green smoothies. If you are nervous about the greens start with just a little and work your way up to more. You can also use a more mild green like romaine lettuce. My favorite combo is romaine, pineapple, banana, avacado, and sometimes some coconut milk. This combo is so silky and tropical. The color is a non-threatening kiwi green rather than the dark green you get from the spinach.

    If you want more ideas for the green smoothies check search for raw food green smoothies on youtube. You will get tons of ideas there.
