NROLW and Food Should Taste Good Coupon!

Hitting the Y today for the last weight workout for the week.  We are running a 5K Saturday morning, so not lifting on Friday to rest.  Started off with some dates and hazelnut butter preworkout:

  • Dumbbell cuban snatch: 1 x 6 15 pounds, 2 x 6 20 pounds
  • Dumbbell single-leg deadlift: 3 x 6 at 25
  • Barbell bent-over row: 1 x 6 at 55, 1 x 6 at 65, 1 x 6 at 75
  • Dumbbell single-arm overhead squat 3 x 6 (using 10# and 20#)
  • Dumbbell incline bench press: 3 x 6 at 25#
  • Planks: 90 second holds 3 times
  • Reverse woodchop: 3 x 6 at 50 pounds
  • Bodyweight matrix: 1 time.

I noticed my hamstring felt funny on Monday, but then it didn’t bother me yesterday.  Today it definitely felt funny during the workout and after 1 time through the leg matrix it started to hurt – not good.  I decided to not do any more of the matrix, as I have the race on Saturday.  It feels uncomfortable right now.  Never had a hamstring problem before.  Think I’ll be doing the Tylenol PM tonight.

Had John meet me for breakfast!

Stopped to take a picture of the little fountain near the parking lot.

Today has felt really snacky.  Not sure if it is the heat or the humidity (or both).

One of my favorite chips are Food Should Taste Good brand.  Here is a link to print a $1 off coupon good through the end of August!  Stock up!  My favorite flavors are the sweet potato and the multigrain.  I wish our stores stocked the lime.

Here is a video of the dumbbell snatch for those that are curious.  I actually jump a little bit as the weight nears the top from push off, this woman does not.  It’s a great whole body exercise.

I have graduated to the 20 pound dumbbell with this one.  Not sure I want to try the 25# one or not, it is a little scary LOL!

Had cereal and yogurt for dinner.  Dinner of champions!

And – some of these:

Not a great eating day.   Seems like I have a day like this about once a week.  Can I call it a refeed day??  Calorie cycling, that’s it!  😀

Question:  Are you a lurker on a lot of blogs or do you only read and interact on  a few?

I love having cereal, yogurt and fruit for dinner – nothing wrong with it once in a while!

I read a lot of blogs, but have given myself permission to not comment on all of them – it got too crazy! So I comment on my favorites and occasionally when a post really gets to me – good or bad.

I read and comment on a lot of blogs, but I try not to feel as if I have to comment. I usually only do so when I feel encouragement is needed or I have something to say. Of course, it is always easier when there is a question to answer. 😉

One-arm dumbbell snatch is one of my faves! You’ll be able to do at least the 25’s no problem when you get to the stage with 4 reps 😉

I have at least one day of not-perfect eating a week. Scratch that, I have at least one not-perfect meal or snack a day! Otherwise I’d go nuts… 😛

I comment on most blogs I read. But I limit the number of blogs I read. I only let around 20 in my google reader. I do dump and add new ones from time to time, and there are a few blogs I’ll visit on a weekly basis when I’m bored and have more time on my hands. But I like participating by commenting, it’s half the fun!

I read way more than I comment due to time restraints. I try to sneak in some reading at work and then star the items I want to comment on. I wish I had the time to be more active on blogs and post more but life is always getting in the way.

I hope the hamstring feels better. Good luck on Saturday!

You really should be a food photographer. My mouth waters every time I come to your blog. Good thing I’ve got room service on its way. I’m starving after this post!

(Yes, I read the whole thing, but man…I’m hung up on food this a.m.)

Thanks for the link to the exercise video–I like having those on hand. I’ve been having a smoothie and either a veggie or baked pita chips for dinner sometimes in this heat. Very satisfying and cool.

I read too many blogs and comment when I have something to say or when I just want to say ‘hey’ to the person. But I am trying to limit the amount of time I spend, so I am very picky about adding any more at this point.

Hello, my name is Charyl and I’m a lurker. I read many blogs quite faithfully (yours included) and rarely comment. I suppose not having a blog of my own makes me somewhat reluctant to comment. Don’t know why… I am extremely grateful for bloggers such as yourself, though. Im constantly inspired, get great ideas for fitness and food, and celebrate each accomplishment -I was teary eyed reading your tri post 🙂 It’s one of the wonders of the modern world! I am seriously considering starting a blog, though, if only to record my own journey to health (I’ve still got 35 lbs. to loose.) Thanks for sharing. Keep up the awesome posts.
