Y workout and dining out

Today was one of those wacky food days, you know?  I didn’t sleep really well last night, which was actually okay because I had to get up early and meet my sister at her Y.

yIt’s pretty fancy – and the memberships are not part of mine, so I have to use a guest pass at hers.  Isn’t that weird?  I showed Colleen stage 1 of NROLW.  That was kind of fun to go back to the beginning again.   Then we ran a mile on the indoor track to end up the workoutl.  After we finished, we went to the Fortunate Cup cafe for breakfast.  I love this place – the interior is gorgeous.

I wanted something more proteiny for breakfast, so I opted for an egg, bacon, and cheese grilled sandwich on a belgian waffle.  This was really good!

Plus some costa rican coffee.  I love this mug, it is so beautiful.

After I got home, I gave John a buzz.  I knew he would be on his bike.  He was almost at Lake George by this time!  We talked about me meeting him there for lunch, but I after jogging and lifting, I was not up for a 30-mile round trip bike ride.  We decided to just meet in downtown Glens Falls.  I am glad, because my legs were pretty tired.  John says I haven’t been the same since my 8-mile run.  Maybe that is true.  We decided to go to East End Eatery and have a bite.  This place has amazing calzones, but we decided to forego all the dough and get pizza wraps on wheat wraps.  With a super fresh side salad.

Hot again today.  We went home and got the new air conditioner set up downstairs.  It’s nice.  Pixie was kind of freaked out about it.  She doesn’t like the fans either, she’s so silly.  She slept most of the day (like always!).

Ever feel like just grazing for dinner?  I couldn’t even think of cooking anything.  John was making pasta, but I didn’t want something so heavy.  I opted for a Thomas’ mini bagel with some peanut butter and jam.

I seriously need some kind of intervention with the blueberries 😀

Here is a picture of the biggest blueberry ever!  I put another berry by it to show how huge it was.

It was yummy, too!

Question:  Is it hot where you live right now?

Your cat is really cute. I have two cats- Addie and Sadie, and they really keep me on my toes! 🙂
The blueberries look really good. I wish that I could get fresh ones like that here. (They don’t have a big selection in the grocery stores where I live.) But I guess I’ll have to settle for the frozen ones! They’re just as good.

Unbearably hot! I got a late start this morning and didn’t get to run as early as I would have liked so it was very sunny and very hot by the time I went.

The restaurant where you went for breakfast looks beautiful!!! And your breakfast sandwich looks sooo good! Yum!!!

It’s pretty hot here too… 35c (95F), it’s been hotter, but this is the average this week…

? for ya.. what do you do with frozen blueberries? The only thing I can think of is to bake with them.. lol! I’m learning to like them much more than I used to!

I make blueberry sauce with them. Plus you can just unthaw them and mix with smoothies, yogurt, or whatever. Not quite as good as fresh, but in the middle of winter, they sure are nice!

Can you believe that its not that hot here in California right now? I didn’t even think about running the air conditioner today! I enjoy it while I can, because I am sure it will get back up to over 100 degrees soon.

I love my snacky dinners especially in the summertime. That is my favorite way to eat, so I try to eat a pretty big lunch and make sure that there is plenty of protein in my lunch.

For Carla–Here is a favorite thing to do with frozen blueberries: Take 1/2 cup of your favorite yogurt, add 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries (I also add a few walnuts) and stir. The frozen blueberries will ‘freeze’ the yogurt a little, and you will have a ‘frozen yogurt’ treat! This is really refreshing.

103 today in Central Texas. According to the news weatherman, it’s been over 100 for the last 2 months solid…gotta love those early morning runs! :-p

I truly love blueberries as much as you! I eat them everyday also. I don’t blame you about the 30 mile bike ride after NROLW and running. Yesterday I ran after NROLW and it was very soothing on my sore legs to run. Today the family and I went trail bike riding on the river valley trails in the city and we biked 39kms up and down hills.Awesome! But I never could have done that on an NROLW day!

WOW that is one HUGE blueberry.

It was about 100 degrees north of Boston today. I’m melting. I can’t wait ’til it snows. 😉

mmmmmm….all those bluberries would make me very, very happy!!

It’s grey and muggy, and threatening rain in good old Blighty today….true British summer weather for us!!?? 🙂

I soooo need to get in on some of this protein pancake action…they look so good….hmmmmm, ingredients…check, blender….NUH UH??? How can I have survived in this world for so long without a blender??

I like my blueberries too…. We have had pretty good weather here in Illinois… upper 80’s this week. It’s been a few years since we had those summers where it was 100 on June 6th and stayed that way until September!!!

LOVE the looks of that waffle-wich!!! You bet it’s hot here. I think we share a lot of the same weather… Happy to be in my mom’s basement right now 🙂

Wow, that is the nicest Y I have ever seen!

I can’t say I haven’t seen some blueberries that are monsters like that, but they grow wild up here and many are huge and plump – mmm!

I also can’t say it’s hot here – pouring rain for the past few days, firmly 45-55 degrees most days. Fall has come a bit early, it seems 🙂
