NROLW, Chocolate Mill and vacation dreaming

Rainy, icky day here.  I actually slept until a little after 7am!  Yay! My gym opens at 8 on Saturday, so I went there this morning to do a little  lifting.  I was just doing that, so I didn’t snack ahead of time.

  • 10 minute warmup on the stationary bike
  • Barbell squat/push press: 3 x 8  45 pounds
  • Stationary lunge: 3 x 8  35#
  • 1 point dumbbell row: 3 x 8 25 pounds
  • Step ups: 3 x 8  30 pounds
  • Push ups:  3 x 8
  • Cable woodchop:  3 x 8  45 pounds
  • Planks:  3 x 2 minute holds

Yay on the planks!  Zipped on home.  I drove to the gym since it was raining.  Out of bananas, no pumpkin and I just had pancakes yesterday, so I made a different breakfast today:

1-minute muffin topped with chocolate PB2 frosting!  It was quite good.  Not for those that are afraid of fat, but so filling and full of fiber!

After a Chobani yogurt with cereal lunch, we headed out to the library.  The library was recently redone connecting the old building with a new rennovation.  It’s lovely.

Stopped at a new place downtown called The Chocolate Mill.  It’s kind of an upscale chocolate shop/bakery that serves breakfast and lunch.  I don’t have many pictures of the inside as there were so many people.  I’ll have to be more detailed at a later point.  We waited in line for quite a while and I stared at these:

so that’s what I got.  Plus a skim latte.

I really loved the little cinnamon roll.  Small desserts always are so appreciated!  I do wish (as did John) that there was more than 1 size latte.  This was a smaller cup than we do at home.  The flavor was quite good, although maybe a bit bitter with the crema.  Definitely need another visit here to really make up my mind.

We sat with a few books while trying to decide on our winter vacation next year.

We didn’t go anywhere together this year, and I only took a long weekend to New Orleans with my sister.  So, John and I need a nice long getaway.

Tonight went  to see the original black & white 1925 Phantom of the Opera movie with live organ music with my mom.  Fun!  Wish I could have taken a pic during the showing! This performer brought his own organ!

Then we ended the evening at Starbucks and I got a “why bother” 😀

Sleeping cuteness – I think she didn’t want me to take her picture!

Talk to you tomorrow!

Question:  Do you go to the library?  And how many books on average do you take out?

Used to go quite often when the kids were little and always checked out a ton.

I absolutely LOVE libraries. They are so much more than just books. Its the atmosphere too. Our town is going thru a library renovation too. Can’t wait! I love to just wander the aisles.

I wish I could do latte art so badly!!! I went through sooo many pitchers of steamed milk trying to figure it out when I was a barista. The only time it ever happened was by accident 😛

I never go to the library. It’s downtown and I have to pay for parking down there. So yes, I’m too cheap to go to the library 😉

I just love the library. I can take out anywhere from 2 to 20 books. I love our library because right when you walk in the door they have books on the right that you can have and they ask for any donations. I will read them and then go back to the library and put it back on the shelf.
    Have a wonderful Sunday.

That muffin looks so yummy! What a great idea. I love your kitty–what a sweetie! You have such a nice library! I usually just reserve and check out books, but I think I’ll be spending a lot of time in my school’s library this year! Haha.

I love the library. I go there every 2 or 3 weeks and take out around 8 books – I don’t always read them all, but I usually grab what looks interesting (and YES, I do judge a book by it’s cover, lol)! I also use their internet system to place books on hold – and that reminds me, I have “The Girls From Ames” waiting for me – took forever to get to the top of the list for that one!

P.S. I love that so many restaurants have switched from the four-person dessert to the mini portions!

A vacation! Sounds so good. Mine are always just at home. DH and I were supposed to go on a Hawaian (sp?) cruise this October but my husband is just to afraid of going on a ship. And anywhere on a plane is out also. (he has fears!)

I wish I could go to my local library but it is never open when I can get there. I spend way too many lunch hours in the bookstore and probably read at least 1-2 books a week on average.

Love that mini cinnamon roll, yummo! I homeschool my kids so we are at the library 2-3 times a week. I always checkout 2 or 3 books each time plus DVDs. I love to read. What a beautiful library you have. Love the two story and Ireland sounds like a wonderful vacation destination . We like to watch Rick Steve’s Europe through the Back Door (PBS show available on DVD and on HULU). Great travel series. Have a great day!

Oh boy.. your eats look fabulous! Especially those coffees & cinnamon bun.. YUM! Going to have to try your flaxmeal muffin.. quick & easy!! And i’m not afraid of fat… lol! I used to go to the library all the time, don’t much anymore. I tend to find books on my Ipod. And buy what my kids want.

I couldn’t help but notice the Ireland book in that stack! I just got back two months ago from a month-long vacation there and it was AMAZING- I highly suggest it!

Wow! You are a plank-machine! Very impressive 🙂

What a gorgeous library! We go often and usually get about 10 articles each time. Some for the girls and some for me. We love the library.

And thanks so much for the link to the 1 Minute Muffin! What a great idea – a new one to try this week …
