Sunday, sunday

Chilly morning, but we decided to brave it and bike to breakfast to Panera and back.  In the 40s, so we were pretty bundled up.  It was a gorgeous ride, though. Some great foliage with dark skies behind.

Felt good to get there and have some hot coffee with my blueberry bagel!

I forgot my pink item yesterday in the long post.  Here is today’s, and appropriate, I think!

Definitely a beautiful fall day.  I really hope next Sunday is like today.  I don’t mind the cold, as long as it isn’t raining!

I just can’t get over the colors.  They almost take your breath away when the light is just right.

Lots of work today to do, which is unusual for a holiday weekend.  At least I am making money!

Took a break for lunch and had a nice tasting plate.  This nectarine was a little dry, though.

Mutant baby carrot alert!

I tried another Holey donut for a snack this afternoon, one of the regular size ones and didn’t finish it.  Too dry.  I am really disappointed, I have to say.  I wonder how the cinnamon rolls will be?  I ended up getting an Attune bar instead and was much happier with the dark chocolate!

John and I did a quick and delicious stir fry tonight for dinner.  We bought some Kikkoman reduced sodium teriyaki sauce and used a little sesame oil to sautee the chicken and some pineapple.  Then  I mixed in broccoli for me (surprised?) plus some couscous!  Delicous and a nice filling portion.  Yum!  Throw together dinners can be the best.

My Broncos won today!  Yay – 5 and 0!  Woohoo.  (I did lose picks, though….).

Had a good eating weekend, which feels great!  I managed to avoid getting candy corn at the grocery store.  That candy is one of my very favorites!  I have to be very, very careful about bringing it into the house.

Question:  Do you have a favorite Halloween treat?

Hey that’s almost exactly the same stir fry as I do, except I use a mixed rice. Yum Yum! If we ever meet, we will be very compatible eaters, huh? Except I don’t do bagels…yet!

Your foliage pics are fantastic. Please don’t stop!

And yes…reluctantly I must admit to a love of the candy corn. But I don’t bring it into the house.

Honestly, I’d never even heard of candy corn until I started reading blogs! I think it’s another American thing. I’ve asked a few people I know, and they all thought candy corn meant candy coated popcorn 😛

Hmm, I love suckers, rockets, caramels and chocolates. Especially the mini chocolate bars 😉

I love the mini Snickers, Kit Kats and m&ms!

Regarding your last post and taro root: I was watching the show Chopped last night and one of the secret ingredients was taro root.

Beautiful fall colors – definitely don’t get those in California!

We have a bakery in my town called the Moose is Loose and they have the best Pumpkin Spice Donuts. I drove past the bakery just the other day and they were advertising that the pumpin was back. I was actualy giddy. I haven’t had one yet. I’m waiting for the perfect day.

Lori, those trees look magnificent. Ours are just beginning to change here.

Regarding the donuts, have you tried heating them up in the microwave with a wet paper towel on top? That might give it enough moisture to make it bearable.

I like the Reese pumpkins. I like any holiday version of the Reese cup because the peanut butter to chocolate ratio is better! :p

I love Panera Bread…they have a gingerbread bagel in the winter that is to die for!

    What gorgeous fall pictures!

My favorite Halloween treats are candy corn, vanilla tootsie rolls, sugar babies, milk duds…gee, I wonder why I got so fat?!?

I won’t buy Halloween candy until the day before, and I’ll end up getting the mixed bag of stuff that doesn’t tempt me, like Nerds and other such boring candies. Although one year I gave away ring pops and the kids loved them…I may do that again.
