NROLW and falafel

It’s my weekend!  I think I am resigned to just wake up early no matter what.  About 6:45 and I got up to hit the gym.

  • Barbell dead lifts:  2 x sets of 8 at 75 pounds
  • Static lunge with rear foot elevated:  4 sets of 15 with 25 pound plate
  • Push ups:  4 sets of 15
  • Romanian deadlifts:  4 sets of 15 at 65 pounds
  • Bent over barbell row:  4 sets of 15 with 20 pound weights

This is exhausting, I have to say, with the circuit.  This last stage is definitely the hardest!  I then walked on the treadmill and did 5 minutes of jogging to see if it would bother my back.  It didn’t, so I think I am okay on that front!  I haven’t been running since Sunday.

Came home and had a relaxed and lazy breakfast chatting with John:

Pumpkin Cream of Wheat with pecans and cranberry sauce.  Warm and filling.  I used to eat Cream of Wheat a lot when I was little, it’s nice to discover it again!

Do you ever have those days where they go by so fast and you didn’t even do anything?  That was today for me.  I did spend some time making a list of priorities and projects I want to accomplish and got a head start on one of the biggest ones, which is refinancing my rental property.  I really hope it works out.  Sometimes lists help, sometimes they freak me out!

Lunch break was protein powered yogurt!

PB130009

Kind of like breakfast, I had pumpkin in the yogurt with some vanilla protein powder.  Topped with a packet of animal crackers leftover from Halloween.

Took a few more things to the consignment shop.  I think some of my things sold, or at least I hope so because I didn’t see them.  They are only inventoried up through the middle of October, so anything sold after that isn’t on file yet.  Bummer because I was kind of wanting to shop some 😀

Something different for dinner!

fal1113

This is a mix you just add water to and cook.  Deep fried would be best, I’m sure, but we pan fried them.  I also shredded and sauteed some brussel sprouts and made a bed for the falafel patties and topped with dried cranberries.

I realize looking at these pictures that I had cranberries with each meal except my afternoon snack (not pictured).

John asked if I wanted to go Christmas shopping tomorrow!  I love my hubby   It will have to be after a longer run tomorrow.  Going to do at least 5 miles, I think.

I’m going to sign off and get working on those ornaments so I can get something done by Christmas LOL.  This isn’t a very exciting post, sorry about that.  I sure know how to live it up 😳   Have a great night!

Question:  Do you make lists?

Yum…cranberries. That pumpkin cream of wheat looks delish. Does it come that way or did you add pumpkin?

I love lists! I am pretty off track with my eating right now. Maybe I should make a list of reasons why I need to lose weight.

Your protein powder yogurt looks delicious, and the animal crackers are such a cute addition! I really like that boxed falafel mix. I remember I baked em, and it was really good 🙂 I do make lists–I really like Google Calendar so I can keep lots of different lists (assignments, grocery, other shopping, general to-do). I really like crossing things off the list 😉

All of that looks YUMMY! Hey, some days are for NOT accomplishing anything. I had to learn that the hard way. It is good for the soul to R&R! 🙂

I write lists of what I need to do/buy in the upcoming days cause if I don’t, 1 minute later I forget!!! Age & hormones!

Have a great weekend & a nice jog!

    PS: Where do you live?

I live by lists!!! Your cream of wheat always looks so yum! I gave it a shot not long ago and just couldn’t get the taste for it. I guess I’m more of an oatmeal gal.

Have a wonderful day tomorrow…running and shopping! I have to get organized for the holidays!

I love falafel! I’ve never tried making it at home! Looks tasty!

I think the animal crackers in the “pool” of yogurt is adorable! 🙂

I make lists. Usually grocery lists and 9 times out of 10 I forget them at home!

Everyone in to the pool! (you forgot to say it & so I just had to :D)

I LOVE falafel! I live in a city where we have a large mid-Eastern population so we have a lot of restaurants and vendors who sell falafel. Sooooo good.
Costco sells them premade now but I haven’t tried theirs yet.

I have to make lists for grocery shopping and I really should make lists of Things to Do to accomplish anything around here. My days are pretty free form and that bites me in the butt a lot of times.
Have a great Saturday and enjoy your run!

I LOVE lists. Without them I would forget everything that I need to do. I make lists for just about everything. School, cleaning at home, groceries, Books I want, you name it, I probably have it! 🙂

I used to eat Cream of Wheat all the time when I was little, too. My mom used to make it with butter and parmesan cheese! <—-It's the Italian in us!

I really like that falafel mix. I usually bake them, which is fine, but like you said, deep-fried would be best!

I like the idea of shredding the brussel sprouts. I read somewhere that the taste is a bit milder that way. Did you notice a difference?

Looooove falafel!! I actually prefer them baked. They hold together a little better that way.

I make lists then completely forget about them. I’m really disorganized, it’s amazing I get anything done!

Yes I make lists, however two things stick out: YUM on the Cream of Wheat. I ate it constantly when I was pregnant with daughter #1. And John actually ASKED you if you wanted to go shopping?? Sign him up for husband of the year, girlfriend.

Now I’m also thinking about cranberries and the sauce I make for T-day. I guess that brings me back to my lists….
