Pre-race eve

No formal workout today since my last 5K of the season is tomorrow.  Forecast is 30 degrees, which is 15 degrees warmer than last year!  Plus I am not sick.

Stacked up some protein pancakes with blueberries for breakfast.  Yay for superfoods!

Made myself productive today with some cleaning and organizing before I get to relax for my weekend.  It’s gloriously beautiful outside!  Birdfeeders filled up and waiting.

Driveway resurfacing is on the agenda for next year……

Had a quick lunch before going out:

The juiciest pear ever.  Are they in season now?  I never know half the time what is in season and what isn’t if it is available year round.

Off to the consignment shop, where I got a couple turtlenecks, a sweater and a pair of pants.  I wasn’t going to buy pants, but I can never pass up petite lengths because they are so hard to find.  Being a shorty, most of my pants have to be rolled up unless I buy petites.  Size 8P!  And $5.80.  After doing some more browsing downtown, I stopped at the cafe for some of this:

I had my laptop, so I put on some headphones with Christmas tunes and did some online shopping.  Now that is the life!  I am just about done shopping.  I also hit K-mart and scored more pumpkin!  I think I am set now for the season

Ornament of the day:

This is one of the ones I started working on this year.  I can see why these are expensive to purchase – time consuming, and I think I am blind now.   😯  I love the sparkle and how pretty it is, though!  I’ve done several in other colors, too.  Once I got the technique down, it’s much easier.

Dinner was a chicken, cheddar and cranberry wrap.  Jeez, I am in a rut with that flavor combo!

Now we are settled in to watch a movie – Miller’s Crossing by the Cohen Brothers.  I enjoy their movies a lot.  My favorites:  Fargo, The Man Who Wasn’t There,  and O Brother Where art Thou

Have a great night blog friends!  I’ll post a race recap tomorrow.

Question:  Do you have a favorite Cohen Brothers movie?

I loved Fargo and also Burn After Reading – the random crazy things that happen in Cohen brothers movies are so fun!

Darn I’m feeling guilty for not getting my ornaments posted yet!

Good luck on the race tomorrow. It will be really interesting to see if you have a better time with the ‘warmer’ temperature and feeling better. Yikes. I don’t think I could step outside if it was 30 degrees!

And, I LOVE to find petites at the thrift store! SCORE!

I’ve got some blueberries in the frig. for blueberry pancakes tomorrow morning!

Have a great time today with your last 5k of the year!!!
    Your ornament is very pretty.

I haven’t watched all the Coen brothers’ movies but the ones I’ve seen have never disappointed.
I loved Fargo and Burn After Reading. I love the bizarreness.

  5. Jinx!

The only one i’ve seen is ‘Oh Brother Where Art Thou’. After seeing the previews i would never dream of watching ‘Burn After Reading’ Guess i just lucked out and watched the only Cohen movie i would like. I usually don’t care for comedies.

Good luck on your race tomorrow girl. Your gonna do great! Can’t wait for the recap!

Hope you’re having fun at the 5k today!! I’m about to go cover a 5k for work actually. I almost signed up for it, I’m actually kinda glad I didn’t – it’s cold! 😛

I think pears share the same season as apples, but they always get overlooked. They’ve been super cheap at the grocery store lately, so I’ve been stocking up. Oh, and that pancake shot is a thing of beauty!!

Good luck with your race!!!! BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR but you can do it! Me, I might but the coldest here when I jog in southern CA was about mid-30’s one winter!

I am short too so I can relate to pants & all. At least I have stores with petite sizes BUT I can’t afford hem! 🙂 Good find for you!

Love the ornaments too… cute to see one each day!
