What’s blooming and young strings!

Happy weekend! What a fabulous day. It was much cooler this morning biking to the gym, but I’ll take it!
Nice workout today:

Exercise Set/rep/weight Muscle worked
Stiff-leg deadlift 3 sets of 10 with 60# bar Lower body
Chin ups 2 sets of 2, 3 sets of 1 Upper body
45 degree Sled Press 3 sets of 10 unweighted (50#) Quads
Dumbbell pullover 3 sets of 10 with 25# DB Back
Rope Crunch 3 sets of 15 at 30# Abs
Barbell chest press 3 sets of 12 with 45# bar Chest
Front Raise 3 sets of 15 with 5# DBs (10# total) Shoulders
Nosebreaker 3 sets of 12 with 25# Bar Triceps

Felt quite good today. The sled press was good because I could focus on pushing with my weak left leg. Then – I got on the treadmill and jogged for 1.5 miles straight – woohoo! And even better, I was able to get the speed up to 5 mph. Maybe I can run that race in a couple weeks. No soreness running, which was good, just fatigue.

Biked home and since I am done with my no sugar experiment today, I sweetened up my cream of wheat with molasses. Is that lame that my first sugar is molasses?

I also popped a couple donut holes that John made while I was at the gym.

He gets up to all kinds of shenanigans when I am out.

Today was spent making soap.  I got another order from my old customer.  I love that because that money is just my spending money for me, and I bought myself something fun that will hopefully be here next week and I am pretty excited!  It’s an early birthday present to me.

I was a little hungry, so I had this:

We are out of dates, so I just had the nut butter on a spoon 😳

Lunch time and you all knew this was coming with sugar back in:

Oh yea!  This BBQ sauce is sweetened with agave, but still off limits for me for the week.

Here’s what’s blooming this week in the garden:

Clematis:

Knockout rose:

Ageratum (floss flower):

I also have some aphids already, so I went and got some native ladybugs to release tonight:

Good organic pest control.  Hopefully it will work!

After some afternoon snackage of latte and chocolate(!!) (I left the camera in the car),  I headed down to see my niece’s 5th grade orchestra play.

They each did a little solo. Logan plays the viola:

They were very cute.  It was a super short concert, too. The other niece enjoyed as well:

Snacks afterwards.  I had a peanut butter cookie, and my sister wanted a picture of whatever blue drink it was she had.  I never did find out what it was.

Since it is Friday night, we went out to dinner tonight.  We biked to East End Eatery.  My favorite dinner companion:

<3

My parents also met us there.  John and I split a calzone.  So good.

Lots o’ cheese, just like I like it!  We were going to go to the library, but found out they closed at 6.  So much for our rockin’ Friday night.

I am off to release those ladybugs and to seek out some snackage after that ride!

Question:  Are you a spoon and nut butter person or always eaten with something?

I really love how much you and John bike together – you seem like you have such a neat relationship! That calzone looks amazing, it has been way too long since I’ve tried one. Your nieces are both adorable!

What kind of soap do you make? I order mine from a lady in Watkins Glen. She makes a Lime Geranium. The smell is out of this world. My all time favorite.
Can you make that? If so, I’m your next customer.

Love the photos of the flowers. Where are those snap dragons you have?

Peanut butter + spoon + Kimberley = NO!

I don’t like natural PB or other nut butters so I just have very small amounts of regular PB, usually in a milkshake with cocoa…tastes like a peanut butter cup. Yum!

The cheese coming out of the calzone looks so delicious!

Cute nieces! My son played the violin when he was younger. One of my favourite mental pictures is of him going off to school with a violin in one hand and basketball tucked in the opposite arm.

Beautiful flowers, hope it works out with the ladybugs.

I love nut butters. I usually try to stick it on some celery, and I love it on an apple, but right off a spoon is great for me, too.

Hope you have a great weekend! Looks like it’s off to a fantastic start!

Aren’t I lucky. Not a fan of the nut butters. At least one food I don’t have to fight myself over. I like PB okay, but always on something. And I have to admit that I was so disappointed that almond butter tasted just like peanut butter to me. I might try pecan or walnut butter sometime. I think I”d rather just eat the nuts. Of which I am too big a fan.

Oh, loved the pic of your niece playing viola, and love that you went to support her. I used to play cello and my sister played violin and viola.

Flower pics are fantastic. Thanks for sharing them.

No added sustenance required for me to enjoy peanut butter, I am content with just a spoon. However, I do like combining it with a banana for a more filling snack. I just started my blog, check it out if you get a chance…you and so many bloggers are definitely inspiring me to connect with other people interested in healthy living.

Wow, clematis already! I can’t wait for mine to bloom. I love clematis.

I go both ways with the nut butter … spoon if I need a quick hit and nut butter on Wasa or Ryvita crispbread. Once in a blue moon, NB with celery sticks. And for an extra special treat … nut butter & banana. 😀

How cool that your niece plays the violin.

    Dinner out looks great.

Seeying your Clematis blooming I looked outside and saw mine is blooming too, otherwise wouldn’t have noticed it 😆

My website is offline for the moment. Having troubles with it and trying to solve it with my webhost. But it’s weekend so nothing happens right now. Let you know when I’m back.

I could probably eat PB on anything but I have been known to take the spoon from the PB jar to the bag of chocolate chips. I like to see how many chocolate chips can stick. LOL. Now, if a spoon has PB on it, I try to remind myself that my dogs would benefit from licking it more than I will!

What a fun report about your day. Welcome back sugar! We must be twins, because I have what looks to be the exact same clematis and Knockout roses. I get a lot of joy out of going out to greet my little garden every day. I thought the pix of your nut better on a spoon was going to be a pix of your soap! Cute nieces you have, and thank goodness for nice short concerts!

    Have a greet weekend.

Blue Koolaid!!! I used to love that stuff. Technically it’s “blue raspberry” but I’ve never seen a blue raspberry 😛

I actually prefer my nut butter paired with something. Lately, I’ve been taking baby carrots and dipping them right into the jar :\
