Dog Day Afternoon

We arrived Thursday night for the doggy show.  Stuck in some horrible traffic in NJ from an accident.  Ugh.  Not to mention this going on when we woke up!

Our hotel has a kitchenette, and we brought food, so I was able to have oats for breakfast with almond butter and jam.

Here is Storm ready for his big day!

This was a spaniel show, so there were lots of different kinds of spaniels.  There were breed events, rally events, obedience events.  Probably one of the only places you will hear the word ‘bitch’ so much outside of Jersey Shore 😉

American Cocker Spaniel

English Cocker Spaniels

English Springer Spaniel

I saw a lot of the American Hershey Spaniel:

These cuties are the 6 to 9 month old ASCOB Cocker Spaniels (any solid color other than black).  So cute!

Then Storm’s turn:

Storm got a ribbon, just barely! He says, “Aunt Lori, lookie what they gave me!!”

We had some lunch, part of which was brought:

part of which was bought:

I am really tired and fighting the snack monster today.  Fighting a losing fight.

I actually worked here as well.  I hooked up to the wireless and did work while more of the show was going on.  Quite convenient to have a mobile job.

Young Clumber Spaniels:

After we left the show – we went in search of a store I have not been to in 5 years!

Squeeeeeee!!!!

You can”t see the chocolate covered peanut butter pretzels there, and that is a package of “just bananas”;  Plus some almond butter, not pictured. Only $4.99 for a pound jar!!  I can’t wait to try the peanut flour!

Then we had some dinner.  Just a diner type place.  You know what that means!  Breakfast for dinner!

Phew…. are you as tired as I am?  We have a snowy drive facing us on Saturday.  There is at least 7 inches on the ground at home so far.

Congrats to Storm! You are such a great aunt to go se his show! And OMG, I love Trader Joe’s! If only they existed in Florida…

Storm is such a pretty boy! Bet the dog show was really fun to see.

Trader Joes? Niiiiice! And almond butter for $4.99? Wow – it’s over $10 a jar here! Dang, I sure wish we had a TJs nearby.

Safe trip home. Don’t worry too much about the snack monster – it’s just one day.

Stormy weather… hah, sorry, couldn’t resist. Storm looks adorable! I’m glad he got a ribbon. Do you know there are two Trader Joe’s in Manhattan and I can’t shop there because no matter what day and time I go, the crowds are unbearable. UN.BEAR.ABLE. It’s too bad — I think they’re the most affordable place around. Sounds like you did a good job balancing work, play, eating out and eating in. Snacking be darned!

Well done Storm! All the spaniels made me smile. My folks had a pair of Springer Spaniels; I was forever helping with gorgeous puppies.
I bought a bag of those peanut butter pretzel thingies when we visited the States in July. YUMMY.

The dog show looks like fun! My sister in law has an English cocker spaniel, she’s cute but can’t beat my cute Bella 🙂

If you snack too much just one day it’s not so terrible, I know you and you will get back to less snacking once you get home.

    Drive safely Lori.

“Probably one of the only places you will hear the word ‘bitch’ so much outside of Jersey Shore” ROFLOL That’s so funny.

The picture of the pretzel stopped me in my tracks. My true weakness above any brownie of cookie.

The dog show looks like a lot of fun. We have one in Houston every summer that’s fun to go to. Love watching the agility classes.

Lori, I am lucky to be surrounded on all sides by TJ’s. At least 4 within 4 miles in all directions. I bought my PB flour there too & lots of other yummy stuff! I LOVE TJ’s!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Such cute pics of the doggies & I must check into the Hershey Spaniel! 😉

    Be safe!

So adorable! I love staring at dogs and puppies.
When I was in NYC, I took my sister’s dog to the dog park every day just to enjoy myself. I don’t have a dog myself but hopefully within 10 years!
