Biking, bagels, and snacking

Bagel Day!  I was up for a ride on the trainer today.  It was minus 12 this morning at 6:30.  Oh my gosh is that cold!  I was glad to have the trainer to ride inside.

I grabbed a coconut water since I was going for a longer ride and sipped on it during my 55-minute ride (covering 13 miles).  Woo Hoo!

Then it was off to bagels.  After showering, of course.  I had a wheat bagel with a maple walnut cream cheese.

That was a new cream cheese and they charged extra for it (which we didn’t know), plus she was pretty skimpy with it.  Guess I won’t be getting that one again, although it was tasty.

Came home and had to get a new Visa debit card as some dinkwad stole my number and racked up several hundred dollars worth of charges on an online gaming site.  Sigh.  It’s a card I really only use for local shopping and not much internet, so who really knows how they got the number.  Could be any number of ways.  Now I have to wait to get that money back, too, which is annoying because that is my checking account and not a credit card.

Then I munched on some granola.  Stress related much?

I told you yesterday that you would be seeing the chicken with balsamic tomatoes again!  It made an appearance at lunch.  I chopped up one of the breasts and warmed the sauce slightly and dumped it on a bed of greens.  Instant bistro lunch!  This stuff makes good salad dressing, turns out.

So Trader Joe’s has officially discontinued their peanut flour.  Shall I start a business selling this stuff online?  There must be other addicts like me LOL!  Hmmm… peanut flour and soap.  Sounds like a great combo to me.

I had a couple of these mint cups with my afternoon latte.

Only one made it into the picture.  This is the first snacky day I have had in at least a couple weeks.  Think some stress has a lot to do with that.

I just was not hungry for dinner after I snacked on a magic roll with some cream cheese (recipe coming Thursday) after having a bit more granola.  Snacks are almost always carbs, or sometimes nuts.  Wonder why that is? So no picture of that.  You all know what snacking looks like…

I need to chillax like this one was today:

We are off for coffee and discussions tonight since we did not get to go last night.

It will be decaf…

Tomorrow is the magic roll recipe!  I have a busy day planned for

tomorrow, so I have that post scheduled up and ready to roll. Over and out!

Question:  Have you ever had an ID theft?

I just ordered peanut flour online!! Can’t wait to try it in my waffles. I’ve actually tried several things because I read about them here 🙂

I have had my ID stolen. My purse was stolen from the gym a few years ago. I was SOOO mad. I had a sneaking feeling that the chick in the locker room was up to no good and I wish I’d listened to that voice.

She immediately wrote checks all over town. Target, Safeway, Fred Meyer…I guess she went grocery shopping. Even though I knew what to do and I did everything right, she still ruined my life and my credit for about a year. I filed all the reports and STILL was harassed by credit/collections agencies for an entire summer. It was so stressful. 🙁

I am thankful that they just swiped a number virtually and that nothing physical was stolen, so it was easy enough for them just to block that card from use. It’s just the annoyance of paperwork more than anything else and waiting for that money to be available to me again.

As a side note… I work in law enforcement (I used to work at the District Attorney’s office) and you’d be amazed at how many ID theft/forgery/Theft cases there are. It was the second largest unit by volume compared to Domestic Violence.
    🙁

So sorry about your debit card! Bick had his checking account wiped out via debit card while we were in Puerto Rico last year. Not fun. He was able to get everything returned (they spent the whole amount at an online Lego site), but what a stressor and vacation ruiner! I hope you have a better experience.

hi lori! long time no blog for me but i am catching up……love that you still have bagel wednesdays-YUM. thankfully i have not had an ID theft……cross my fingers!

Ugh, frustrating – I’ve had my debit/bank card numbers stolen twice. Such a PITA to get the money back, etc.

Your salad looked yummy! I’ll have to try that sometime.

  7. debby

Wow, that’s terrible about the ID theft. I’ve never had that happen.

Hey, I knew that balsamic chicken and tomatoes would be good on lettuce! I just didn’t get around to trying it.

    Waiting for tomorrow…

That’s funny: I have the same brand of coconut water, bought it here in Holland but haven’t tried it yet. Maybe Saturday on my long run, you gave me an idea 🙂

I have never had an ID theft but a friend of mine did. But can imagine how annoying that is.

They did block my credit card once because they said there was money taken of it that they didn’t trust. Turned out it was the donation I made to you last year for your charity ride LOL. After I gave permission they undid the blocking.

Okay – that is really funny about your donation to me LOL! How did they know I was running a scam operation? 😉

Sorry about your debit card. Our local Jason’s Deli had some sort of breech last year and the Russians got a whole bunch of credit/debit cards. Fortunately, I had only used my credit card there (for the reward points) and my credit card company caught the unusual $400 charges going on in Atlanta while I was using the card in Memphis for groceries and gas. They flagged the Atlanta charges and I didn’t have to pay anything. Most of my friends were affected, too, and some of those were debit cards. One friend’s debit card was used in New York, one in London, and another’s in Brazil. I was glad I only use my debit card at the bank!

I totally thought I had an id theft at one time. I went through the entire process with the credit card company. Turns out my Dad borrowed my card to renew something online (he had it saved on file from the last time). What a pain in the butt!

  11. Helen

Such a pain about your debit card. It seems like the bank should automatically put the money back for you, espcially since they know you didn’t do it. I think the whole debit card thing is such a conundrum. I don’t know if you’ve tried to write a check lately but it is becoming almost impossible to do so for anything much other than paying a bill that is being mailed. So we use debit cards and voila! Sometimes it’s not the local place at all, it the processing of your charge where the number gets bandied around. TJ Maxx had a huge issue with that a few years back.

UGH Lori – so sorry about the credit theft! Getting harder & harder nut to be effected. I did have that happen once a long time ago.. pain in the you know what!

Pixie – man, life is good for that adorable cat! 🙂

I just saw peanut flour in my TJ’s. I will have to ask about it. TJ’s does tend to bring in stuff & then it disappears at some point… that happened to a fav mustard of mine & it just showed up again & I am so happy.. been at least 2 years without it!

Thanks so much Lori for the comment on my blog. It was 85 degrees here yesterday! Crazy! Hope this doesn’t mean we are going to have a terrible hot summer……..We’ve had 70’s and 80’s for three weeks now…… I’m beginning to think spring has sprung and its not a fluke….

  14. Karen

Darn – just when we are months away from getting a TJ store in town:( My husband had a little ID theft incident a few years back. Fortunately no repercussions.

  15. Rachael

I have never had anything like ID theft I can’t even imagine the stress you must have gone through. My dad gives me crap daily about where I leave my wallet reminding me of everything that could happen. I guess I should be more aware. So have you done any thinking about coming to Utah to do some demolition work? 🙂

  16. Kelly

What a pain in the rear. Sorry you had to go through that. And to spend the money on a gaming site? wow.

Looking forward to the magic roll recipe.

And I think you should start your own internet business. That would be very cool. I’d get your coffee for sure. 🙂

  17. Katy

I wonder if you could use the flaxseed meal you use in your 1-minute muffin instead of the peanut flour for your waffles. I love your 1-minute muffins (I bet they would taste good with the coconut butter!) 🙂

  18. Roz

OH DAMN!!!! So sorry to hear about the identity theft. I’ve had it happen too, and it’s a pain but gets resolved pretty quickly. GRRRR!!!! (mine was just after I got married, so some of my id was in my maiden name, some in my married name, so there was all kinds of hoopla with that and “who I really was”. weird…) BTW…love the word “dinkwad”. May have to use that before the day is up. 🙂 Take care Lori!!!!! Hang in there.

  19. Ang

No ID theft but once my best friend’s boyfriend stole my credit card and used it for “adult entertainment” hotlines. I was pretty upset…

I would totally buy peanut flour from you! 🙂

  20. Shelley B

Nummers – I haven’t had coconut water in so long (since I stopped running, boo)…still one of my favorite beverages!

Sucks big time about your debit card theft. Very scary and so infuriating!

  21. Amy

I read on another blog about peanut flour being discontinued. So sorry I never got to try it. I love the kitty pictures!
