Pianos and productivity

It’s Monday, right? I woke up feeling a little groggy today. When I got to the gym, nobody was there! That was weird. Then about 15 minutes later more people came in. Usually Monday is the day when it is the most crowded, but it could be people just tired of this cold weather. It was 10 degrees when I headed out this morning. Ugh!

Exercise Set/rep/weight Muscle worked
Barbell Deadlift 3 sets of 12 at 55# Lower Body
Straight Arm Lat Pull Down 3 sets of 15 at 40# Back
Incline Chest Press 3 sets of 12 at 45# Chest
Plank 3 sets of 70-second holds Core
Seated calf raise 3 sets of 12 at 140# Calves
Lower Back Extension 3 sets of 15 at 80# Low back
Lying hamstring curl 3 sets of 12 at 35# Hammies
Upright Row 3 sets of 10 with 30# bar Shoulders

I used a machine for the hamstring curl for something different and now I remember why I really dislike the machines. I just cannot get comfortable on them and feel restricted.

Came home to coconut flour waffles!

I keep forgetting to add a little oil and see if I can get these to crisp up.  I have also been eating a platoon of fresh and frozen berries lately.  Surprised I haven’t turned a little bit purple.

I happily settled in to work this morning.  Pixie settled into a sun spot.

She looks all melted.  Like a melted peanut butter cup.

Lunch time included more berries.  I made more magic rolls, but I didn’t quite cook them long enough.  Still tasty, though.

Egg sandwich.  And that is broccoli slaw on the side that I sauteed up in a little coconut oil.  A nice veggie change up for me!

The afternoon brought a delivery.

Our new addition.

It is pretty out of tune, but it is recommended to let it acclimate for a month before having the tuner come in.  I think my ears may disintegrate by then!

We had lattes after the movers left.

I am uber productive with work now.  More than I expected because I have enough work!  Before I would do the work until it was gone and then wait for more, so I could never really be sure of my true production rate.  Remember I am paid by the line. The more lines per hour I can do, the more money I make.

I finished up my day for dinner time.  I cooked up some pork and made  salad with greek dressing and feta cheese on it.

John barely finished chewing dinner before he was practicing.

I love this shot because you can see all the Pixie hair on John’s office chair.  She loves to lay across the back of it until he chases her off.  Pixie is less than enamored of the new pianer, so maybe she will stay off the chair.

I decided to go up and ride the trainer while he played 😀  I did 10 miles.  I like doing the lifting in the morning and a bit of cardio in the evening.  Just to kind of bookend the day.  All of that done and it is only 7 pm.

Now I have settled in with a snack:

Have a great night!

That’s a nice piano! My mom had one (played for about 5 years or so but don’t remember any of it) but it was one of those stand-up types.

Sounds like it was a great day, weather excluded. You have my sympathies, however, for having to wait a month before you can tune the piano. 😉

    Yay to pianos and productivity!!!

Love the salad with chicken and feta…yum!

Great job on lifting in the morning and cardio in the evening…

Oh how Exciting! I forgot you were getting that piano. Imagine, a grand piano. Wonderful. Food looks very tasty today. When I have pork on a salad, I love to have it with fresh pineapple chunks and sesame vinaigrette.

    You might consider earbuds LOL
So glad for John the piano arrives.

I love your day as always. Great that you got in a double workout yesterday. You know by now I’m not an afternoon person for workouts 🙂

Nice piano! And watch out with the berries, you might end up turning into a giant blueberry like Violet did in Willie Wonka (the original version). Oh wait, that was gum, wasn’t it?

    Love the Pixie pic! 🙂

I have found on the lying hamstring curls that older machines don’t work for me. I have found some newer ones that I fit into. I think the older ones were made for men! 😉

Wow on the piano.. too cool!

A very productive day for you two!

Seeing your broccoli slaw cooked reminded me of a sandwich I used to make and need to do again!

Saute some onions and mushrooms and that broccoli slaw in a little bit of olive oil. Stuff into a whole wheat pita. Add cheese if you’re in the mood. YUM.

Pixie sounds pretty tasty the way you described her. Melty chocolate peanut butter cup kitteh. First time a kitteh ever looked tasty. 😉

Love that lava flow of berries on the waffles. Looks very tasty.

So do you think you and John will ever post a video of y’all playing together? You on the guitar and he on the piano? 🙂

I’m SOOOO excited for you and John! That piano is lovely! ALMOST as lovely as Pixie!!(wow…I had no idea it had to rest for a month before being tuned!!) Have a great day Lori!

Interesting info about the piano. I wouldn’t have imagined that about the aclimating but I guess it makes sense. The guy next door to me growing up owned a piano tuning business now that I think about it…
