Give me some challenge ideas!

This week is my quarterly rest week from lifting.  It’s hard for me to not do it, but it is such a good thing for my body.  You always make your gains outside of your exercise, not while doing it.

So, you would think I would sleep in, right? Nope.  I woke up early as usual.  Came down for a breakfast of the 1-minute muffin with blueberries and coconut butter.

There are more blueberries underneath there.  Wouldn’t want you to think I was skimping on them or anything.

Warmer today, but dreary and drizzly.  The whole week will be warming up – finally!  There should be some blooms coming in my tulip beds.  I have a few early tulips (most are late season).

I do have a couple daffodils blooming in the pot given to me by the nieces yesterday:

Aren’t they cheery?

Lunch time came quick and some eggs sounded good.  Not an omelet today as I just wanted some cheese on there.

This is the Yancey’s Fancy Buffalo Wing cheese.  Good stuff, although a bit on the processed side.  I also snacked on some potato chips.

So the title of the post? Well, it is coming up on a new month, so I thought I would take some suggestions for some challenges for myself for May.  So just leave me a comment and I’ll see what sounds fun or interesting!

:unpictured latte here:

Trying to shake up the veggie front, I forgot I had a box of cauliflower with cheese sauce in the freezer.  I cooked up some jumbo shrimp in a little coconut oil and lemon pepper and put that on top.

Quite good! I am now completely spoiled in that I only want raw shrimp now to cook with.  We used to buy the frozen cooked shrimp because it’s less expensive, but after getting some frozen raw – I decided that is the only way to go for me.  I would love fresh, fresh shrimp, but not really around here.

Question: Any challenge ideas for me?

How ’bout ONLY SHRIMP for a month. shrimp gumbo, coconut shrimp, shrimp ceviche, shrimp cocktail, oatmeal shrimp, popcorn shrimp, shrimp bagels… (you have to read this in Bubba’s voice from Forrest Gump.) LOL. Just kidding around. I’m not a good one to make up challenges. But I’d like it if you made another challenge for all of us to participate in! I was thinking about that challenge you set up a while ago and how much I liked having a challenge like that.

At first I thought you were doing a challenge for us… darn. 🙂

You are so good at challenging yourself already I can’t think of anything at the moment. I look forward to seeing what others think up.

I don’t have any good ideas for challenges, either! Just trying to get our renovations done will be enough for me. Your tiles look great, by the way! I’ve never done tiling but I might like to try it – is it a beginner friendly project?

Tiling is not really that hard, but you have to be accurate with cutting and laying the tile. You can rent tile saws if you don’t want to buy one. I would avoid granite for a first time project, but ceramic or porcelin is pretty easy.

Funny: daffodils, we call them “narcis”

I don’t have any ideas for a challenge at the moment. My head is still rethinking yesterday over and over again. I want to thank you for your sweet comment and email. You kind words meant so much to me and made me cry all over again.
I’m glad we have “met” Lori.

That wasn’t supposed to make you cry – it was supposed to make you feel better LOL!

Daffodils are also called narcissus, but most people call them daffodils.

Sorry I can’t think of a thing for you to challenge yourself with. Maybe I’m feeling a bit like ‘I’ don’t want any new challenges and that’s translatimg to my thought process 😉

Eggs are such a great protein aren’t they? For years I never ate them and then I had a doctor ask me why and I couldn’t really put a finger on it. So, around 5 years ago I went back to eggs and I can eat them at any meal – and even have them for snacks occasionally!

You are such a disciplined on track woman, I can’t think of a challenge you don’t already set yourself. EXCEPT….I challenge you to put Pixie pictures on 50% of your posts this week! Kidding of course, but I DO love your cat!!! Have a great day Lori, and Pixie, say “cheese” and smile for the camera! 🙂

The idea of those yummy looking blueberries covering that muffin has me drooling. It looks so good.
Shrimp is one of my favorites. I prefer raw to cook with but will sometimes get the cooked for quicker salads.

Challenges? Hmmmm… it seems you give yourself enough of them. But a summer race would be good. How about a Tri sprint? Cooperstown is having one on May 29. or… there are plenty of road races…. bike race like debby suggested. All those challenges… all about fitness. Can’t think of any foodie challenges.

Oooooh, I have a good one for you!! How about a NO COFFEE CHALLENGE?! Okay, that’s probably more like a death sentence rather than a challenge, huh?! LOL!

Alright, maybe a Yoga challenge?? Or a new food every week challenge? That’s all I can think of right now… I need coffee 😉

I think that is more a death sentence for anyone that comes into contact with me if I am coffee-less…
