15 years!

Today marks the 15th anniversary of marriage between John and I.  Can I just say that I feel like the luckiest lady alive?  I really do.  When other things go wrong in life, the one thing that makes up for everything is my husband 😀

We had the most gorgeous wedding day. We lived in Colorado at the time and planned an outdoor wedding.  It actually had snowed a couple days before, so we were in a bit of a tizzy!  However, the clouds parted and we had a 70 degree day.  We were married by a JOP at the Sunrise Ampitheater in Boulder.

This was back before digital cameras, so excuse the quality 😀

The brass quintet in the background played arrangements done by John. We were both in graduate school for music at the time (my, how things change).  I also weighed about 220 pounds (my, how things really change).

I wanted to wear my sunglasses so bad because it was so bright and sunny!

We really needed nothing to compliment the outdoors. My bouquet was picked up at the farmer’s market that morning. I went there looking for some flowers and already had my hair done. The flower vendor there noticed and made me the most beautiful bouquet!

My bridesmaids had red sunflowers tied with ribbons.

Check out my nails –

Note John’s wedding ring in this picture is no longer with us after being lost.  We now have the Celtic bands and my wedding bands are in a jewelry box.

John’s side of the family lives in Colorado and we held the ceremony there.  We then left for a few days to honeymoon in Disney World and then flew to NY to have reception there for my side of the family.  That was so much fun to extend it for a whole week!

I got to get all dressed up again.

One of the very few public displays of affection that we do.

Fast forward to 2010

Note to self: Get more nice pictures of us instead of always goofing around.

Happy Anniversary John!  Here’s to many more!

    Thanks, Lori 🙂
How about another 15? (I remember my Dad writing that to my Mom on their 15th anniversary.)

Happy Anniversary! You look so different now. Me too, thank God. I so wanted to lose weight for my wedding (I was engaged for 3 years, so I had the time!) but it never happened. It took several more years before things clicked. Enjoy your special evening!

Awww I love the wedding pictures – it looked like a GORGEOUS day and I still can’t believe you didn’t always look as skinny as you do now! What an accomplishment!

    You need a 2011 Anniversary picture I think. 🙂

Congrats to you both and here’s to another 15 or 30 or 45 more years!!! Yay

Happy Anniversary! You were/are the picture of radiance! And a huge batch of encouragement to me at a time I really need it. If you can reach and sustain that total of a transformation, then so can I!!

And as I’ve said so many times before, the pictures that show your neighborhood are absolutely mesmerizing to me.

Don’t think I knew you and John were musicians. Another thing we have in common. Both Mr. B and I were music majors.

Congratulations on 15 years of marriage! It’s quite apparent how much you love each other.
Outdoor weddings are the best! The weather was gorgeous for you and you both look amazing.
Wishing you many more exciting, happy years together!

BIG BIG Happy Anniverary Lori and John! 15 is apparently the crystal anniversary. May your love sparkle like crystal for MANY MANY years to come. (Geez, I almost made myself barf by writing that…however, the sentiment of many bright years ahead together is certainly there! 🙂 )

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! I was bridesmaid for a friend of mine on the exact same day – and I was 40 lbs. lighter (the weight loss that didn’t last) but hey, I’m on my way back there again! 😉 Loved seeing the pics – thanks for sharing!
Looks like you had a great celebration! May you have many, many more happy years! <3
