Fright Fest!

Happy Columbus Day (or Thanksgiving for my northerly neighbors). I am working today, so here is a recap of Sunday and Fright Fest at 6 Flags Great Escape in Lake George.

Sunday was the Cram part of Stuff and Cram weekend. Phew.

John and I each got free tickets for going to the blood donation last week.  I guess my crying in public was humiliation to get me a free ticket even though I didn’t finish my donation.  😳

They also gave us coupons for discounted admission, so I texted my sister to see if their family wanted to come.  So, Colleen and the nieces joined John and I on Sunday.  It was another gorgeous day and about 80 degrees.

The park is all scarified for Halloween.  Although, not so scary in the daytime!

My new ghoulish friend:

The park has smoky mist all around to add to the atmosphere.  My sister and nieces:

I can be a bit of a wuss on rides.  I don’t do ones that drop you down or go upside down.  Like the Sasquatch:

I don’t mind the balloon ride, and I rode with Devon while Colleen and Logan went on the Sasquatch.  I see paparazzi taking my picture!

We had fun on this ride:

It was crowded at the park since it was such nice weather, plus the holiday weekend.  I am not big on crowds, but the weather certainly was nice to be at the park.

Time to take on the Canyon Blaster!

Roller Coaster!  I like this one.  It kind of reminds me of the Great Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disney.

Ride our speed?  The sky way.  This is nice and quiet and you can look over the park.

Feet action!

Guess who wears wide width shoes??

Colleen and Devon. We are taking pictures of each other!:

The castle:

I spy a train – choo choo!

Another of my favorite rides?  The carousel!  Complete with smoking hearse:

I was kind of in costume as a football player, but didn’t do the patches under my eyes.

I could also have gone as a Broncos fan if I had I put a paper bag over my head…  🙄

A little hungry now.  We had snacks and I tried a totally lame cider donut and it was bad, so I opted for a caramel apple! Got my fruit in 😀

I haven’t had a caramel apple in forever! Yum! Although it did give my jaw quite the workout.

Looks like some people were in line too long here:

We then went on the bobsled.  I like this ride, although it is a bit hard on the legs with the side to side banging.  It’s cool because it actually goes along like a bobsled without being on a track.

We were team Jamaica! Yeah, mon!  Take that Canada!

It really felt like a summer day.  So warm and sunny.  It was really cold when we went last year.

No more blood donating for me, so I guess I don’t get a free ticket next year 😀

Pink item of the day.  This was the pink outline on the sky way ride:

The Breast Cancer Site

It’s feeling like Halloween up in here!

Question:  Do you like amusement rides?

What a fun day and what a bunch of great pictures!

I used to like rides when I was younger. Now I am too old and too fat…I could possibly go on the carousel.

That looks like such fun! I like most rides, but my tummy doesn’t like rides that spin or twirl.

Because of my in-process dental work, caramel apples are off-limits for now. So today I had a caramel apple parfait at McD’s. Not bad, for a substitute.

I do some rides…….my fav will always be the carousel . I like the ferris wheel but hubs like to shake and rock it so i won’t ride with him. lol

I do like the rides and my little sister (36) likes them even better. Because she has two little girls that are too young to go on all these rides, she went to an amusement park with her friend and left the girls home!

I love the picture with a hairy arm in it. 🙂

We have no caramel apples in Finland. Must have them when I come over.

What a fun day Lori, beautiful weather and a fun park.

I like amusement rides as long as they don’t put me upside down or are too high, am a little bit afraid of heights. It’s been ages since I went to an amusement park.

Fun! I love amusement parks but getting older I can’t take the wilder rides anymore – they really bang you around too much. Although I did go on Tower of Terror about 7 times in a row when I was at Disney for the Princess Half Marathon a couple years ago – that was a blast!

How fun. For some reason I was thinking Fright Fest was a haunted house type deal but you got to do all those fun rides! Awesome!

They spookify the ship downtown and there’s a large actual haunted house in town here now. I love that sort of thing but no one I know does! Boo!!

My head/stomach doesn’t like a lot of rides anymore. I stick to more tame ones because a lot of jostling and back & forth makes me dizzy and sick. Old grandma Ali! LOL

FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lori, you look so happy & enjoying it all! The rides looked like great fun. I like most rides but in my older age, some I may avoid depending…. 😉

My teeth must avoid caramel apples after all my issues & my ongoing work being done!

What a fun day! I LOVE roller coasters – upside down, backwards, fast – but no one else in my family does.

The first time I took my daughter on a real roller coaster she was about 7, and when she got off she said “I am never doing that again!” She’s almost 20 and has never been on another one!

What a fun day! It looks like a blast! I don’t like rides much, I get sick easily and I’m afraid of heights. But some of those look fun.
