Karma stealer

This morning was workout B from Fit Female Breakthrough.  I do have to say that these are tough workouts.  With the warmup, it takes me about 45-50 minutes per session.  Seems that the B workout takes a little longer, but I think that is because of holding the prone cobra 3 times for 60 seconds.

I tried a different protein drink today. I mixed 8 oz of almond milk with 30 grams of whey isolate, cinnamon and 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce.  This was actually pretty good.  I think it would be good with crushed ice, but I am in too much of a hurry in the morning to do that.

Breakfast:

Protein waffles. More baking powder again to make them puffy.  Guess that does work!

Busy all morning.  So hard to stay focused on such a beautiful day, too.

I brought back an oldie for lunch.  Tuna.  It went into the dislike pile many months ago and I decided to try it again.  Mixed with a little light mayo and lemon pepper.

Okay – tuna fail. My first bite and I got a fish scale in my mouth.  Where is the barf emoticon when you need it?

So, I really hope karma is a bitch, truth be told.  I went out to do my daily inspection of the garden after lunch to see what new is popping up. I should have seen this:

and instead I see this:

Someone decided that they liked my Buddha statue.  And then decided they could just take it for their own.  This was right up by the porch, too.  I really don’t understand why people seem inclined to take my stuff.  I have had a fair number of things stolen from my in my lifetime and I have to say that it really chaps at me.  I don’t like to wish bad luck on someone, but come on  – stealing a Buddha?? That is beyond low.   If I see it at a garage sale, I am going to be pissed off.  I honestly just don’t get it.

I hoped that Mickey could cheer me up later.

Sort of worked.  I was kind of pissy for the afternoon, though.

It was nice enough to grill out again for dinner.  I managed to drop the chicken on the ground before cooking.  Asphalt – it’s the new marinade.  🙄

At least it washes off.  For those that read yesterday, remember how I said how I needed to try laughing cow and salsa on chicken? Well…  voila!

And it was really good.

I took a post dinner 2 mile walk and scoped out all the yards looking for my Buddha.  Maybe he will just mysteriously come back in the night like he vanished.  It was a gift to me from my parents, and I would really like to have it back.

That is so crappy. I’m sorry. I have a similar Buddha (in my house) and he weighs at least 75 pounds. Yours looks pretty heavy too, how did they steal it?

On a side note, a friend’s neighbor had her garden gnome stolen and she was super upset about it. And then it reappeared on her roof. Weird, eh?

Wow. Some people are so low. i wouln’t want to be on the other side of that bad karma!

What if we all pitched in and created a reward pool? You could advertise in the local paper. It worked here in Memphis: http://bit.ly/GBBs4w

A woman in our neighborhood reported that she and her husband observed a car stopping in front of their house and stealing rocks from their retaining wall. Not once but twice! Her neighbors starting helping them keep and eye out and they were able to scare them off two more times. Finally, the perps went to pick on someone else.

I am so sorry your Buddha was stolen!! That’s awful. Well, here’s hoping guilt gnaws at the thief and they simply must return it.

    what everyone said.

Why not try putting a sign on a pole near your house with “BUDDHA” in big letters, and asking nicely for its return, no questions asked–say they can just leave it on the driveway if they want.

I am LIVID for you! I still am not over a necklace that I left in the gym at work that someone took and never brought to the front desk. I posted rewards for months and it was so important to me. I still cry. This wasn’t even left out anywhere – it was taken from your YARD.

When I was a young kid some people stole out mini wooden picnic bench from the front yard. I cried at that too and Mom told me they must have needed it more than we did (ha).

May the karma strike these people down!!!!

I am surprised at how often I hear people steal stuff from other people’s yards. Someone broke into my dad’s backyard soon after we moved them to the retimrement community and stole his GIANT gas grill. That had to be hard to move! And so bold too.

I am jealous of your grilled chicken. Yummy. I need to brush the old grill off and do some grilling myself!

Sorry someone stole your Buddha that does take B^lls. Not sure why people do stuff like that, probably a kid. Since I don’t like mayo I’m just not a tuna person. Will make it with hard boiled eggs sometimes with just a pinch of mayo and lots of spices and it’s not terrible. Your waffles always look so good, I have a waffle maker too.

People should leave other peoples properties/belongings alone. One shouldn’t steal, never. I’m pissed too Lori but mostly sorry for you because it was a gift from your parents.

Did you report it at the police?

  9. Satu

I hope the Buddha statue is giving them a hard time.

I scoured your site for recipes yesterday. I’m going to make me some banana breakfast pudding…

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stealing your karma from yo – how dare they! Should we come & start a blogger search party!!!

We were burglarized right after my mom died & I will never ever forget how I felt.. I still call the police in hopes they will catch the person so I can yell at them at the trial.. they stole family memories from me! I know – bitter!

I hope you find your Buddha!!!!

That really stinks about the Buddha! I don’t understand people sometimes. I had a pair of earrings stolen from my hotel room once. They were nothing fancy or special- but they were special to me! They were the first pair of earrings that Danny had gotten for me. I left a note in the room addressed to the person who took my earrings and told them to take good care of them as they were special to me. Maybe they felt guilty enough to never steal again?!

That sucks that someone would take something from you – but I do hope karma is a bitch! Thanks for the laugh this morning: Asphalt – it’s the new marinade!

  13. Joanne

Unbelievable! I would think the person would be terrified of bad karma. In fact, maybe you should post a sign that lets who ever stole the Buddha know that very, VERY bad Karma will come of the theft and the only way to resolve it is to put the statue back.
    Rotten people!
Love the food but not the fish scale “delight”. I’m with you – GAG!

Oh my, I am so sorry to hear that your Buddha got stolen! That is a really low move. I think you should do some postings around town, announcing that your Buddha was taken, it has sentimental value and if it’s returned, no questions will be asked. maybe also offer a small reward to anyone who has info on where it might be? Whoever took it did a rotten thing. They deserve a little public shame! Dinner looks great — I wish I could control my portions like you. Sigh. Must get tougher on that.

That sucks!! I like the idea someone had on facebook of wiring it so the next time the thief gets a nasty shock. Or maybe one of those automatic sprinkler things that comes on when it senses motion. At least they’ll get wet. 🙂 Hmmm….I’m sure I can come up with some more ideas. LOL I liked that statue too! I was thinking of getting one for my garden! I still am actually.

Ok the Fit Female workout, is that for home or gym?

  16. Roz@weightingfor50.com

NOOOOOO!!!!!! That is nasty…may bad karma come down on the a-hole or a-holes who took your buddha! I’m grring for you. I could mail you a rubber duck to hold it’s place until it’s either found or replaced. sigh. I know, it’s the thought that counts! 🙂

Sorry about the Buddha. We were robbed one month after moving into this house. It’s like the person/s who did it knew the house had crummy window and just a deadbolt in the back and ONLY took things from the LR, which is a box extension on the back of the house. We got a dog and a security system not long after that. Maybe they took it to spiff him up and they’ll bring him back shortly. One can hope…

  18. Heidi

That’s terrible! I’m with Jody – ready to form a Lori’s Buddha search party! People are so incredibly thoughtless. I’m so sorry 🙁
If Mickey couldn’t pull you completely out of your funk, I hope your dinner (which looks yummy), or even Pixie could 🙂

  19. Alissa

Hope you get your Buddha back. It’s really disconcerting when something is stolen from your porch step. It happened to me too. So now we leave lights on all around the outside of the house.
