Rainy days are good for puzzles and pizza.

Rainy and cool weekend.  This is the spring that we skipped over!  It was a nice weekend with a lot of little projects and a lot of relaxing.

I hope the comment feed is settling down?

I had a very good strength workout on Saturday.  Increasing a couple weights and reps.  Then, John and I went out to lunch and shopping on Saturday.  We stopped at Chipotle.  I had the salad with barbacoa, salsa, cheese and sour cream.

This is really good.  You don’t even need dressing.  This is one of my treat meals for the week.

We did some mall shopping (empty handed) and then to Lowe’s. We got an estimate on resurfacing our driveway the other day  and it was $1800.  That was waaaay more than I was expecting.  So, we are looking into doing crack repair and resealing ourselves rather than having them tear up the whole driveway and replacing it.  If we can get another 7 years out of the driveway, that would be nice.  I really want to put laminate in our downstairs this year, so we couldn’t do both if we had someone else do the driveway.  And as I said to my mother, I don’t think we could possibly make the driveway look worse than it already does (remember these words, everyone).

I did buy a new bird feeder to put outside my ‘working’ window.  Hopefully the cardinals will come to this one since it has a platform.

And, you can see why we need to redo the driveway this year.  😳

Rainy days, puzzles, and kitties.

One of these things doesn’t go along so well with the other 2.

I’s helping, right?

I have not put a puzzle together in the 3 years Pixie has been living in the house. Our other cat, Chloe, was blind at the end of her life and I could do puzzles and such without her bothering them.  Not so with Pixie. I am having to reassemble pieces that she decided didn’t go together.

Another good indoor weekend project: I had gotten the 5-minute Artisan Pizza book out of the library, so we made some dough up for pizza this weekend!

Just simple pizza.  Sauce, cheese and some cooked chicken.

I didn’t know this was going to rise so much in the oven and be such a thick crust!

It was really good, though.  Yum.

Off to do some more puzzlin’!

Question: Do you do puzzles?

I really am not sure what is going on with that. Not all google readers are getting this, but just some. It’s so weird.

I do puzzles online at jigsawplanet.com. Too many puzzles, thus my to-do list doesn’t have quite so many checkmarks on it. 🙂

Still getting lots of comment rss, and it’s really strange because I’m not subscribed to your comments. I’ve never received them before this squiggle. Do you suppose it’s a plug-in gone wonky? (Note: this is not a complaint. One click and they’re gone.:))

The pizza looks delicious! I think I need some melty cheese with dinner tonight.

I don’t buy puzzles, but if I see one sitting unfinished and unattended, I will go and see how I can help…not the same way Pixie does though. 😀

I LOVE puzzles too! Hubby just looks at me like i’m nuts…ah well…maybe a little…. That driveway looks a little beyond the help of ‘crack repair’ but a sealer might help it hold together a little longer…7 years….umm…..i don’t think so…deb

That salad looks to die for 🙂
We had pizza tonight as well! Well it’s was a frozen one but still tasted a bit like pizza.
I love seeing cardinals on my walks

That pizza looks fantastic! Yum yum. 🙂

We used to do a big Christmas puzzle every year, but sadly that went by the wayside with the advent of massive computer usage. Love that Pixie “helped” so much!

Haven’t done a puzzle in ages but I used to do it a lot when I lived at home, my Mom and I did it together. I do have a puzzle at home but it’s been in the box for over 3 years now. Maybe this Winter.

I still have tons of comments in my reader too. Going to try to renew you in my feedreader.

    I feel smarter already!

At least Pixie looks lovely on the puzzle. 🙂

Your pizza looks faboulous, I haven’t made one in ages. I now have the coconout flour, so I’m ready to try some of your recipes soon.

I haven’t done a puzzle in years but my mom always has one going in the winter. I just ate breakfast but now I want pizza 🙂

Lori – Pixie on the puzzle pieces is priceless!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To funny! I don’t do puzzles but maybe I should again. I did when I was a kid! 🙂

You & John are such home doers!!! I would be afraid to do any of that stuff but after seeing the great jobs you have done on other stuff, I have no doubt you can!!!

I love to do puzzles and have a bunch of un-opened ones. I just can’t seem to find the time. The pizza looks wonderful. I love thick crust like that.

My mom and dad resurfaced their driveway last year, which is about 10x the size of yours. Do you need non-solicited tips?

Start with grass/weed killer on all cracks where you see plants popping through.

Buy the crack sealant to apply to all cracks. If you have really deep cracks, it can be helpful to fill with sand first otherwise you use a lot of crack sealant.

Mom and Dad used push brooms for spreading the sealant. It looked great but definitely is something you need to do every other year (or every year depending on how bad the driveway is and what kind of Winter you have).

Your pizza turned out great! Yep, love how it rises in the oven. We usually do puzzles at my Aunt and Uncle’s lake house – there is a puzzle table on the enclosed portion of the deck and during the week people work on it off and on. I’ve never done one at home though!

I haven’t done a puzzle in forever, but I always think they would be wonderful to sit down and do. I guess I end up digital scrapbooking instead… 🙂
