Riding with ice cream.

It’s funny how much Pixie love there is on this blog.  She is really popular.  I guess she needs her own blog or something.  Or maybe she should guest post on a day in the life of the world’s luckiest cat

Strength workout this morning.  I was feeling a little tired for some reason.  Guess we can’t be ‘on’ all the time.  I did manage to up the weights on my overhead shoulder press.  I used 20# DBs for the first time for each arm.  I definitely was at my max of 8 reps and was glad I did not  have to eke out even 1 more (because I could not).  I was actually pretty happy about that. Slow and steady progression.

Breakfast when I got home was protein waffles with apple topping.  Since I had 200 calories of a post workout shake, I saved 2 of the waffle wedges for later.

I also got a replacement plant in the mail to put in my garden.  I had ordered an echinacea that was shipped to me last fall, but it didn’t survive the winter.  I got it from Bluestone Perennials.  They are so awesome. I got a replacement plant shipped to me right away when I told them it wasn’t coming up.  I didn’t even have to send them any proof.  Guess they trust me.  I love service like that.  This is why what I don’t get locally I get from them.

This is Hot Papaya and should look like this later this season. Fingers crossed.

Lunch time brought the rest of the protein waffles.

Made up with peanut flour and jam as a sammie.

My brain was fried for the rest of the afternoon with work. This week has been tiring.  I got a new account, so there is new learning going on.  This is a vascular account, so it is something different.  Mostly I do orthopedics (which I really love – so interesting) and some family practice. Anyway, learning new accounts and dictators is a tiring process.  I even forgot to take a picture of my latte!

I was glad when dinner arrived.  I cooked up some chicken and pan fried some potatoes for something different.

Yay for carbs!  Good thing I ate them because John asked if I wanted to go for a ride tonight. I wasn’t planning on riding today since my legs were tired from lifting today, but I figured a nice easy neighborhood ride would be good for my legs and my brain.  We tooled around for 10 miles and then stopped right before home for a treat!

Kiddie cone of coffee flavored ice cream.  Since we were 1/3 mile from home, we biked home. John was smart and got an ice cream cookie, which he could put in his bag.  I had to bike home one-handed for that bit.  Bonus was that I could lick the cone while riding!  The picture of healthy living.

The cone and I made it safely home.

I love my puffy allergy eyes.  That redness comes back that I was having earlier this year, although today was less red and more puff.  I guess it is a permanent thing for me as I don’t want to be on steroid drops forever.  Some days are worse than others, too.

I am glad tomorrow is Friday.  Monthly garden club meeting and we are visiting someone’s garden, so that will be a nice break in the afternoon. Come on weekend!

I’m a member of the Pixie fan club!!!! Neva is a media sensation in her own right too. Maybe we should establish twitter accounts for them both, and have them “speak” to each other!! 🙂 Have a wonderful Friday Lori. Weekend is almost here!!

    Pixie is extremely cute!

So cool that you were shipped another plant no questions asked…great company!

Maybe Pixie can have a little tutorial from Debby’s pooches. Noah is particularly talented in the guest post department. Love that you had a good ride even tho unplanned. DH and I did that the other night–going out about 10 minutes after dinner. I was hesitant, thinking that it was too soon after eating, but it was a great ride. Nice to have someone to encourage you. Not to mention ice cream incentives. I’m going to check out that nursery. Gotta love that kind of customer service.

LOL. Maybe Pixie and Noah could ”co-host” a blog. Somehow I don’t think Pixie would cotton to that too well.

Yumm on the ice cream. I am hoping to score some froyo this weekend. I’ve been extra good since coming home!

I’d say we open a blog for all our pets and they can take turns in posting 🙂

Your afternoon plans sound great. I love watching other peoples gardens for new ideas.

There is lots of Pixie love because watching her pictures makes us happy! 🙂

I love the yeasterday’s photo where she was sneaking a look. Pixie should at least have her own Facebook fan page: she would have loads of raving fans!

I’m heading for an eat fest today. We celebrate my nieces’ birthdays and I get to eat what I want. I could start my train trip with an ice cream cone..

I’m a cat lover…Kisses to Pixie (I’m definitely a fan). Your waffle with apple topping looks amazing. Did you make the apple topping? Thanks.

Hee I love the mental image of you biking with the ice cream cone. It’s cute and far better than the people who drive their motorized wheelchairs down the sidewalks with their oxygen tanks in the back and are puffing on cigarettes. Now THAT’s the picture of health!

I am a fairly recent reader of your blog and really enjoy it. I am also a retired medical transcriptionist. So I realize what you are talking about. 🙁

I would definitely read Pixie’s post or blog! 😉 I am not surprised she has a fan club! Lori – I am telling you – you are missing out on Pixie love – she could make you some $$! 😉

LOVE coffee flavored anything! As I kid, I ate mocha chip ice creams which was coffee flavor with choc chips in it. Those old days for me! 🙂

    CONGRATS on your lifting!!!!

    UGH on the eyes…. 🙁
