Is the weekend over already?

**Don’t forget – the Sahale Crunchers give away ends Monday!**

We had a good weekend, although the weather was not all that cooperative.  It was in the 20s Saturday morning.  Most of my garden got toasted from that since it was a killing freeze and not just frost.

I wanted to get my 25 minute run out of the way, so after breakfast when it warmed up into the 30s (!!!), we headed down to the track. I think I have figured out that it is going faster that is what is so hard on my weak thigh muscle, so my version of running is now officially titled Lori 2.slow

I did about 2 miles in 25 minutes and did pretty well.  This doesn’t make me really breathe all that hard because my cardio fitness is good, but that is the speed my leg is okay with.  I need to learn to be okay with that.  I think I am okay with that for now, but you know how the brain can fool you sometimes 😀

It got warm enough to about 50 degrees, so we went on an afternoon bike ride, too!  Still have to be pretty bundled up for that, but the sun was out and I was happy to ride.  The fall blooming plants are  still around.

And Kale.

I still like kale better as garnish than eating it.

I also saw the computer roll over 2000 miles for the season:

I was beginning to wonder if I was going to hit that with all the icky weather the last month or so.  You would think I would be stick thin with all those miles, but it just shows you that tons of cardio doesn’t always = weight loss  😉

Sunday was trying to finish up the floors.  We are so close. The living room is all finished and put back together.  I am soooooooooooo happy!  So happy!

Today:

We decided to rearrange the room a bit as  well.  It may not stay like this, but we like it for now.  The register covers are not in place yet because they are getting painted, but it is nice to have a room back to normal.  It is also nice because we decluttered the room as well.  Bonus.

We are just putting up shoe molding in the office and replacing the last couple baseboards in the dining room and we then we can put the rest of the furniture back in place.  Hooray!  This is the dining room and office right now:

Still in a bit of disarray, but probably just another couple hours to finish up and put the furniture back.  Then we will be ready to show off our floors for the big holiday dinner this year!

Today’s pink item:

You had to know that a bargain girl like me would use Suave, right?

The floors look fantastic! Like having whole new rooms.

I always love it when I can see the results of work done & enjoy the change every day. Some of it is so invisible (like cleaning something that just gets dirty again in a few days. Or decluttering drawers I rarely use anyway.)

The floors look so nice – you must feel pretty proud about them! Love the furniture rearranging as well…amazing how that can change the perspective so much.

As for your slower running, well you know I get it. It’s hard to not compare to your old self, but I finally got to the point of deciding that I wanted to run, period – and it didn’t matter how fast.

The floors do look great wish you guys could come do ours lol. Maybe some day we’ll get our last few rooms done. At our house we are still missing a few small pieces of baseboard and it’s been like 5 yrs since we did the kitchen lol. Seems to be how things go around here. Yea, I’d rather use the kale as a garnish too 🙂 I’m a suave girl too.

I think that time on your run is just great!

And I do love the floors. And I love that doing that makes you de-clutter. I should do it…

The floors look fantastic, it’s a big improvement to your rooms. I love it.

Congratulations on hitting 2000 miles, that’s so awesome!

Floors look great. In addition to liking what you’ve done, my goodness, what a sense of accomplishment and ownership that must provide. Don’t think I could ever leave a house after putting that much of myself into it. Congrats on the 2000 miles. I’m slowly heading towards my 350 mile hiking goal.

2000 miles is amazing, major congrats. BTW – 2 miles in 25 minutes isn’t slow. I’d probably tackle that in 28 minutes 🙂 I am slow! I love, love, love the new floors. I cannot wait until we can replace the ones in our new house too because I know it will make a huge difference!

I should state that 2 miles in 25 minutes isn’t slow. It’s just slower that I used to be and that is what takes getting used to.

I’m thinking I’ll be lucky to get 2 miles in 25 minutes once this boot comes off. Glad you have reconciled yourself to being happy with what you are able to do.

Cold here too Saturday and then freakishly warm yesterday and today. Weird.

    Your new floors are fabulous!

Your floors look gorgeous! I hate our carpeting. It was brand new when we moved in 12 years ago – its a light brown, but over the years the stains and our dog have taken its toll – so much easier to clean hardwood than carpet!

    Hooray on 2000 miles!

I love your floors, they are gorgeous! You’re giving me ideas for my house…my husband’s not gonna like this!

Love the floors Lori and the new arrangement. You two do good work! It’s hard to embrace our physical limitations and not compare ourselves to what we use to be able to do. Jody recently did a post about how we can’t out exercise what we eat! Its so true.
