Drive by posting

Just a quickie post.  We made it without any issues up here. Sandy definitely lost a lot of steam for up here and it was just windy and rainy.  Our power flickered, but that was it.  I feel so bad for how much damage there was on the coast.  Clean up will take a while, but East Coast people are nothing if not resilient.

I can just tell getting off easier on this storm means feet and feet of snow coming our way this winter, know what I mean?  Thanks global warming.

The sun actually came out today and it was really warm for the end of October.  The weather called for another rainy day, but then there was the beautiful sun!  Also with a lot of breeze.

I hope power comes back soon to those affected.

Today’s pink picture?

The world’s oldest jar of sprinkles.  Seriously – I think I had this before I met John.

Very glad to hear the storm didn’t affect you…seeing the pictures of all the damage makes my heart hurt.

Changing subjects, if that jar of sprinkles is older than your relationship with John, that must mean that you’ve actually packed it and moved it across the country? Laughing at that – I don’t move food.

LOL at the antique sprinkles. And at Shelley’s observation of its cross country journey. I guess it means that sugar is one of those things that never goes bad? Do you have an emotional attachment to the sprinkles? I’ll bet you didn’t know you would provide some of us with cheap entertainment with your innocent pink picture!

Seriously, SOOO glad to hear from you, that you were okay. Waiting to hear from Helen!

So pleased to hear that you are safe, well and suffered no damage. It’s going to be a tough road ahead and hopefully people pull together and look after each other. Shelley said it perfectly ‘my heart aches for them’. May the eastern seaboard have a kind and gentle winter.

I’m happy to read you and John are okay and the storm didn’t effect you much. The damage done by Sandy is huge. I’ve seen the photos and it’s terrible.

Happy to read you and John were unscathed by the storm. The photos on the news are very sad. On a brighter note though, I LOL at the “worlds oldest sprinkles” and that you’ve had them since before you met John. Take care Lori, have a good Halloween.

Hi Lori! Glad the storm didnt affect you much. I live in NYC and was lucky enough nothing crazy happened to me and my family but I know a lot of people were tragically affected! Is nuts. But anyways, glad you made it to your destination safe and sound and please throw out that thing of sprinkles 🙂 lol

Glad you guys weathered the storm well. I had to laugh about the Decor sprinkles. I think I have some of the same vintage. And we’ve moved 19 times in our 40 years together–I definitely DO move food!
