Football dinner

I am so glad the election season is over!!!  Now can we please get back to being civil with each other??  Time to move forward.  You know they always say you reap what you sow.  So don’t start sowing anger and fighting, know what I mean?  Try sowing compassion, open-mindedness and willingness to work together.  Imagine what that could do.

We were up a bit later watching returns last night, so it was a tired morning heading off for Bagel Wednesday.  (I think it deserves a capital B).  Check out this morning’s temp:

That’s cold for early November.  Or just cold, period.  I think it was in the teens overnight.  Just about time to break out the flannel sheets, I think.

This makes it all better, though.

Today is obviously not a lower carb day

Looks like we are escaping any heavy snow up here.  It’s going to be south of us and a bit east.  It did start to get breezy today and just kind of dreary weather.

I wanted a nice warm lunch.

BBQ turkey on a potato. Patent pending.

Today felt like Thursday for some reason.  Maybe because yesterday felt like 2 days?   I was ready for my latte today.

Nice crema on this one, too.  Tasty!

So, after 3 weeks of Lori superiority, John finally won the football picks and he wanted to claim his dinner tonight.  He was also nice enough to use a coupon for his meal.  He decided to go to Dango’s Dugout.  We had been here before and figured we would give it one more try.  The bar section was busy, but the dining room was empty save for us.

Our meals came with some salad – all iceberg, but at least there was a cucumber on there.

You would think that with the place this empty that it wouldn’t take long to get food, wouldn’t you?  It took forever!  I studied my placemat and see this ad:

Nice phone number.  Overreact much?

Our meals finally arrived.  I had ordered broiled scallops.  Who knew that meant they were broiled and then served in a dish of butter!

Gahhh!  I had wanted a potato or rice, but since I had a potato at lunch and a bagel for breakfast, I chose broccoli instead.  That was cooked well, at least.  I did like my scallops and John liked his coconut shrimp, but without the $15 off coupon – this meal would *not* be worth the price.  I think I would only go back for 5 cent wing night  😉

Poor John was a little disappointed in his football meal.  Too bad he has to wait another 3 weeks before he wins again!

Dessert tonight?

You know it!

Flannel sheets. I’m sweating just thinking about them!

I agree with you on the civility…it was a pretty hostile world today. Hopefully people will get over themselves and get back to normal life.

I love my flannel sheets 🙂
It’s been very cold here too! Wow I can’t believe how much butter those scallops were served with.

I’m always cold at night so I think flannel sheets would be awesome! Instead I have a tiny heated blanket. It shuts off on it’s own so I turn it on low just before bed, hop in nice and cozy and then either shut it off or let it stay on and turn off later. Love!

Not sure why but last week it went from light jacket to winter jacket weather seemingly overnight. Eek!

We have an electric blanket, of which only 1 side works now – my side 😉 – but it doesn’t shut off automatically. I need to find one of those!

HOLY BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! That is cold! Good thing for bagel day to make you all better! 🙂

I LOVED your first paragraph! Based on the Senate being the same though, I am not holding my breath…. they are not the most compromising individuals.. I can hope though!

Stay warm!!! Rain expected here & cooler temps but not like you!

Hmm, I see I’ve been shorting myself on the candy corn snacks. I’ve been limiting myself to 5 pieces per serving, but as of today I’m adding another piece! 🙂

I’m glad the elections are over, too, and can only hope that they’ll decide to act like intelligent adults and exercise the art of compromise. Mostly, though, I just want Donald Trump to shut the heck up.

Ummmm… have 3 of those handfuls. No need to be depriving yourself of the candy corn!! Could be why I needed to by 2 bags of sale candy.

    “Lori superiority” Hahahahaha!

We tied this week, thank goodness because Mr. Helen has been beating me week after week. My pocketbook needed a break.

I’ve been thinking a lot over the past few weeks how social media really has changed such things as political discussion. I still don’t get how a person who would never in a million years actually say hateful words, feels free to type them and let it fly on the internet. So very sad.

It’s the anonymity of the internet. You can spew hate much easier when no one actually is right next to you to call you on it. Plus it doesn’t help that the media actually gives air time (and PAYS!!) people that spew hate like Limbaugh, Coulter, and the like, so it becomes socially acceptable to act like that.

That plate of scallops looks more like what you’d get at a southern “all you can eat catfish” restaurant! And so does the limp broccoli!! LOL! Still get a warm fuzzy feeling when you post pics of those coffee mugs – brings back good memories. Bill & I enjoyed our pre-walk smoothie this morning in ours!

I have to say, probably for the first time ever, dinner doesn’t look tasty at all to me.

We had the same feeling Wednesday, I too thought it was Thursday because I didn’t have to go to work Thursday.

I checked everything about my blog but it is clean on all the computers I checked and on Chrome and Explorer. I don’t know what else I could do. Maybe it’s an option to clean up your cookies and remove my blog from your reader and then reinstall it? Otherwise I wouldn’t know what to do else.

I hope to win this week – my pics sucked ass last week, at least I won last nights game, so that’s a good start.

Oh well, you can at least cross that restaurant off your list – 2 times and just mediocre, not worth it.

    Have a great weekend!
