Crock pots need to be plugged in.

Downton Abbey started last night!  Yay!  I stayed up to watch the 2 hour premiere.   My favorite story line is Tom and Sybil 😀  And the clothes!! Ahhh!!!!  I love their wardrobes.

Mistake was to try to set up a water bath for crockpot oats after that.  I didn’t notice that I hadn’t plugged in the crockpot.  D’oh!  Turns out you need to have it plugged in to get hot…

So, I woke up this morning expecting warm apple cinnamon oats and instead got a cold crockpot.  I threw it all in the pot and cooked it for about 15 – 20 minutes, so nothing lost but my marbles.  Good thing we work at home so I didn’t need to hit the drive through

Today was fairly quiet, which is good. Cold again today.  That meant a good warm lunch.  John had made some venison stew in the crock pot yesterday, so I had that for lunch.  Can you tell we are obsessed with the crock pot?  At least he plugged it in to use.

And finally some strawberries on sale!  Winter and I get missing these.

I had to take Billy to the vet today for his final checkup before going to his new home.  The vet was impressed at how well behaved he was and how good he looked.  Clean bill of health, although now we are waiting until this weekend to take him to the new home.  That gives me  a few more days to love on him.   I will miss him terribly.   😳

I made a latte when I got back.

While I finished more work, John cooked up dinner.  We have been on a recipe storm lately.  This was bourbon chicken from this recipe.

Very good, but I would like a bit more heat 😀

We need to go out and pick up some coffee. It has been too cold to roast and we are out.  Household Emergency!!!

No coffee? The horror! I need my coffee too and this would be an emergency for me too.

I love Downton but I had to cry so hard the last episode I saw. I have 2 more on the DVR to watch and then season is over for us although I believe there is a christmas special after that. My fav’s are also Tom and Sybil but also Anna and Bates.

Honestly? I wonder myself too. The TV guide for next week says no more episodes which means I have 2 more left to watch and if I’m correct they don’t air the Christmas special (yet).

I love my crockpot! I actually post lots of crockpot healthy recipes on my hubpages account. Could not live without it these days. It is currently cooking a sausage and veg casserole that I look forward to eating when I finish work tonight. Glad you still got your breakfast though. and the venison stew sounds yummy! I’m just starting a diet plan so have a blog to track everything for 2013, glad I found your site for a bit of encouragment!

Not plugging the crockpot in sounds like something I might do. I can’t tell you the number of times I brew myself coffee, pour it into my thermos, and then LEAVE it on the counter while I go to work. It’s only after I sit down at my desk that I look around and wonder where my coffee is *facepalm*

I got into watching season 1 when it was on Netflix and season 2 isn’t there yet so I can’t start watching season 3. Glad it seems so popular though because I really enjoyed the first season!

Yeah, I also forgot to hit “publish” last night with my post, so it went up this morning. It really was a Monday!

I think you can watch episodes online on the PBS website for earlier seasons, FYI.

I have been loving my crockpot so much lately I’m almost not wanting to cook unless I can use it. I’ve actually been looking at investing in one with a timer. I would so love to set it and forget it!

For those who are looking for Season 2 of Downton Abbey, if you are an Amazon Prime member, they have it for free streaming to computers, iPads, TVs, etc. They even have a choice of regular or HD.

I was wondering where your post was last night…sounds like it was just a forgetful 24 hours, what with the crockpot and that pesky publish button!

I have the newest episode of DA ready to watch on my DVR today – my idea of heaven, knitting and Downton Abbey!

Ugh! I did that crockpot thing once, only mine was bbq chicken sitting out on the counter all day. I’ve also forgotten I had anything in the crockpot and left it on for about 24 hours. I had chicken jerky after that one.

Fingers crossed that Billy’s new home works out for him!

Hi Lori! I haven’t watched the first episode of Downton Abbey yet–because I’ve been a little too tired and preoccupied to enjoy it properly. I’m saving it for a later day–when I can enjoy it like a perfect 0 calorie dessert that it is. 😀

You can talk about your crockpot all you want. I love mine! I’ve not forgot to plug it in yet but i can so see that happpening! 🙂 Yeah Billy found a home and has a clean bill of health…….bittersweet huh? I would have a hard time parting with him too…I love some deer jerky! Really the only way i like venison……I have yet to watch Downton Abbey but everyone seems to love it..i need to check it out! Hugs! deb

I <3 Downton Abbey!!!! It makes me happy.

And–not plugging in/turning on the crockpot is one of my worst fears. I obsessively check it a dozen times before leaving the house. 🙂

SUCH great news that Billy will go to his forever home on the weekend. That said, you’ll always be his “other mom”. He’s a lucky boy to have found you!!! You have to plug in a crockpot??? Really??? 🙂 Have a great day Lori.

Holy Shit – the Radiance household without coffee?? That is a crisis!

Glad Billy is doing well – you were a great foster Momma!

    No coffee!! Whaaaaa 🙂
I’m so glad a furever home has been found for Billy. He’s come a long way.
I’ve put things together and forgot to plug in the slow cooker. I’m actually using mine today! One of my favourite kitchen appliances.
