I posted this pic on Facebook, but here is a picture of my current sads:

John and I both heard a loud cracking noise.  I thought it was something falling over in the pantry and didn’t get up to check it out.  Later on I went upstairs and see my guitar.  Not sure why this happened. Our house is really dry in the winter and that can affect guitars, but my old one has always been fine (and I still have it).  I have to take it to a shop and see if it is repairable and how much it costs. There is wood damage on the face. It may be better just to get a new one.  I have to say that I am really, really bummed about this.  I loved that guitar. I only had it for about 15 months.

It’s been warm enough (relatively speaking) to do some walking outside. 35 degrees today and I did 2 miles of walking.

Stripes are happening on the wall.

They are easier to do now that I have done a few and have the hang of taping and measuring.  Depending on the light, sometimes the stripes look lighter than the wall and sometimes darker than the wall.  It’s fun! We picked up the flooring last night.  It has to acclimate in the room it will be installed in for at least 48 hours before installing.

Tonight is more being busy. It’s Mother/Daughter night and I am out.

Healthy Heart Weekend! I am not going to let you all forget about it.  You can sign up any time through the weekend, too.

I saw the picture on Facebook last night, but it’s still shocking to see…your poor guitar. I mean, geez – it’d be one thing if you were one of those crazy performers who smashes their guitar after a concert, but for it to just randomly break like that – so sad. πŸ™

Yeah – and you know how you have things that are in your budget radar for some time in the future? The guitar was never on that list.

I will be interested to see if they can repair it. since it looks like it was glued in the first place, it seems like it could be repaired. But it might affect the sound too much. I used to play cello. I don’t think the bridge was glued in place, but now I can’t remember. I do remember it breaking one time. I didn’t get a new cello. And it really is a bummer when something so important to you is not on your budget radar. I hope its a good and easy fix.

I can totally understand the bummer about your guitar. Strange that it happened, I hope it can be repaired and it won’t cost you too much.

Hope you had a great night out with your Mom.

A bit jealous of your outside walks. Still impossible/impassable around here. After this morning’s 3″ I’m beginning to think it may be July before sidewalks can be accessed or roads will be wide enough to be safe to walk/run on. OY.

So so sorry about your beautiful guitar. I really hope it’s repairable!

πŸ™ on your guitar!!! So sorry! Hope it can be fixed & not too expensive!

Cracks me up that relative warm is 35 degrees! πŸ˜‰

    The stripes look AWESOME!

I bought a violin about 10 years ago with dreams of aspring to play a recognizeable song, but that didn’t happen. I ended up buying a long piece of rubber with holes in it that you soak in water and hang on the hole inside the instrument. It’s supposed to help prevent cracking and such during the low moisture months… Now that it’s been sitting on a shelf for 5+ years, maybe I should check and see if it’s still OK. Certainly hope they can fix it for you and it doesn’t cost and arm and a leg!!! LOVE the stripes!

I saw that on facebook – so crazy! I didn’t know dry weather could do that. Once all our snow/ice melts, I am looking forward to getting outside and walking – love the fresh air!

Interesting that the crack was loud enough that you heard in downstairs. Bet it did have something to do with the dry atmosphere or temp variances. Hope it’s fixable although the sound or feel may be altered.

Ohhh, dilled havarti cheese sandwich! We used to go to a place downtown Denver (near the Children’s Hospital when my son was admitted) with the BEST sandwiches and that was always one of my favorites. Your bathroom looks great!
