Taking the plunge

First day of spring with all the glorious spring flowers and green grass.

Oh wait…

Well, it is bagel day at any rate.  I had a nice surprise today. I tried on my size smaller pants that I have been wanting to get back into and I crammed my butt in them and zipped them up today!  Not suitable for public viewing, but it is progress!  Woo Hoo!

So what do I do?  Bagel!!

bagel

It’s all part of my master plan.

Anyway, after discussions and me kind of dragging my feet over whether or not I wanted a monthly car payment (does anyone really want a car payment?), John and I are off to get a new car.  We hashed over used versus new.  Since we were getting the hybrid, John crunched numbers and it made much more sense to go new for what we are looking at.  Which is:

prius

A Prius!  In nautical blue.  I kind of wanted the habenero color, but it wasn’t available in this model.

We are off to order that tonight and then celebrate with a cup of coffee.  Hopefully things will go smoothly at the dealership.  Not sure when we will actually take delivery of said car, but the deal will be done.

My Prius is red! Love it, get the 50 mpg all the time. Have even done some long trips (1600 miles) in it and it is comfortable. You’ll like it!

I’m terribly jealous of your bagel. I LOVE a good bagel. Maybe the only bread I really miss. Maybe once a month or so I should treat myself 🙂

I hardly ever eat bread except for the bagel. It’s definitely something I was never willing to give up permanently.

That is a pretty color! Like you, I don’t enjoy a car payment, but having a new car is pretty nice…I bet you’re going to love it!

Congrats on having a smaller butt! 🙂

UGH on weather but YES to cramming your butt in those pants – Your words, not mine! ;), a bagel AND a new car! How exciting!!!! I have not had a car payment for years & love that but a new car would be nice. I know we are in southern CA but I like me some butt warmer seats in the colder weather & my car does not have them. 😉 ENJOY!!!!

Ooh, that car looks very futuristic! It seems like people on the east coast don’t worry about getting four wheel drive, whereas out here, where we only get occasional snow, EVERYBODY worrys about it. Is it because we have mountains?

There are always chains if you need it. I do live by the Adirondacks, but we don’t go in the mountains when it snows.

Congrats on the car! She’s a beauty.
What a disappointing Spring! I ran in 17 degree weather this morning, with what indicated to be “feels like 9 deg”. Not fun.

Well, it will be a while before I can wear the pants in public. I have to at least be able to zip them up without having to jump up and down 😉

LOVE the car! But even better news is the tight-but-buttoned pants! I’ve got a pair like that here at home. I’ve always been able to button them, but they feel too tight so I don’t wear them. Maybe I should try them on again. 🙂

Love the car and have heard nothing but good things about the Prius. To me, the funny thing about your snow pictures is that the streets are always clear. When it snows here, the streets look exactly like the yards and driveways!!

I know what you mean – our cars both had to be replaced last year and after years of not having any car payments, the $700 payments for both are definitely felt, but it was completely necessary. Love the color!!

“Not suitable for public viewing, but it is progress! Woo Hoo!” LOL – totally understand! It IS exciting to see progress with clothes fitting better!
Congrats on the car – exciting! Sorry I’ve been AWOL!
And yah, spring here is looking the same as there… :S I’m so ready for sandals and capris…

Cool car Lori. I don’t want a car payment either but am afraid I have to get one too if I want a new car this year. Otherwise I get an older used car, not sure if that’s better than what I drive now.

That must have been such a great feeling that you could zip the pants. Congrats!
