Work to do

We had a gorgeous day today.  Finally spring!  At least until the rain and cold come back tomorrow 😀

Breakfast easy and ready to go as I had a batch of crockpot steel cut oats I made yesterday, which we had this morning.  Apple cinnamon version.

I backed away from that shot a little

Do you like this graphic?  I do.  Especially the part about not judging – and I think that also applies to not judging what is on someone else’s plate.  If you are interested in mindful eating practice, you can look at their website here.

My mindful eating?

Ooops.  I was very hungry before lunch and I did count these.  Mindful enough, then.

Lunch was blueberries, greek yogurt and some ‘natural’ cinnamon crunch squares.

This is the Mother’s version of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.  It’s one of John’s favorite cereals and mine as well, although I can binge on it if I don’t pay attention.

Afternoon latte pre bike ride:

I had just finished up the previous day’s files and no new ones, so I decided to take advantage and do a short ride before dinner.

Finally getting the weather to cooperate in the low 60s.

Did a bit more work and then we made turkey burgers for dinner.  With different sides, of course.

Then I went out for another ride!  Got in 15 miles today.  You know my goal is to get 250 miles in for April.  Well, here is my odometer.

While that looks fine, there were already 61 miles on it from March.  That means this needs to read 310 miles by the end of April.

I have a lot of work to do, or in other words, I need to haul ass!  Eeek! I have to average at least 10 miles a day.  Of course, that is an average since I do more on some days and don’t ride others, but you get the gist.  Weather must cooperate fully – do you hear me Mother Nature??

After 15 miles today, I met John on his way back from tutoring to stop at Rookie’s for a cone in the twilight.

Nom, nom, nom!

As I have said before, I love your blog; you are obviously an excellent photographer as well. The photos of your foods are helpful because I struggle as to what (different) I can make. Glad you got your files done; you must be privileged to do “digital” transcription which I am trying to get my doctor client to switch to; he still insists on those micro-cassettes!!! One week down on my weight loss program and the initiation of my blog. Not too well the first week with only 1 lb lost. It is so darned slow. Your progress is so inspiring.

1 pound is great! Any loss is always a good loss, no matter the size.

I do digital, which is nice most times. I can just log in and do whatever work is there on my accounts. The downside is that you can’t earmark work to do – it’s just whatever is there when you log in. Feast or famine!

It always makes me laugh when you say nom, nom, nom!

I do like that graphic. I’m going to have to bookmark that site and check it out tomorrow.

If only the weather would start cooperating! Isn’t it spring time now? Longest winter ever. I’m off to check out the website you mentioned.

I can’t think of a better way to end the day than with a wee bit of soft-serve.

As for mindfulness, I often invoke the George Costanza line from Seinfeld: “I’m aware! I’m aware!” Close enough to mindfulness for me. 🙂

I love the plate graphic! I’m also VERY VERY happy spring has arrived for you Lori, it’s been a long haul from the sounds of things. And for the record, I’m a little smitten with your owl mug. Actually…a LOT smitten! What a hoot. OMG, I did NOT write that…..groan. OK, I did. Have a great Wednesday.

It’s turned cold and rainy here today – WTF??? I think Spring is going to morph right into summer for us.

I think it’s hard to have a goal like mileage per month when so much depends on the weather…still, it’s nice that you were able to get out yesterday and enjoy a ride (ooh, and that ice cream cone, too!).

I never judge someone elses plate except when my co worker was pregnant and she was eating a lot of bad stuff. She gained extreme weight during her pregnancy and had to stop early because she had pregnancy diabetics. It was hard not to say: told you so 🙂

We are having rain too but that’s okay. It has been extremely dry and the garden needs the rain. It will get better Saturday and Sunday though.

I stopped making mileage goals long time ago because I never reached them LOL. But you are different than me, more hardcore, and I bet you will reach your goal this month.

Lori I got a new Cannodale Street bike and I am so excited to take it for a spin! It’s been too windy lately here for bike riding but I am hopeful that this weekend I can try it out. It will give me another exercise option and should be easy on my post surgery foot.
