Bring on the heat!

Not hot sauce, but hot weather!  Heat and humidity are arriving here.  Thunderstorms last night ushered in warmer weather.  The garden soaked up a lot of rain yesterday.

I still ended up with a hot breakfast because our house was very cool (heat is off now) this morning.

Cream of wheat with almond butter and jam.

I worked for a while and got in a morning bike ride for 6.5 miles.  It wasn’t really hot, but it sure was humid!  And everything is uber green now.

I kind of had a typical dinner for lunch.

I am going to run out of broccoli before the week is up – the horror!!!!

Do you like this picture?  Two doors down.

Now that is service from the ice cream truck! Our neighborhood truck plays Music Box Dancer most times.  I think it has ruined it for me.  What does your ice cream truck play?

I forgot to take a picture of my latte, but I got a picture of the piece of chocolate I had with, all while showcasing the laziest cat in America.

Work has been so, so busy.  I was totally fried when I was done and couldn’t think of what to have for dinner.  So, I munched on tortilla chips and thought maybe that would be dinner, but then I decided I needed something more balanced.   So, yogurt and apple topping it is!

Went out for a second ride this evening to get more miles and because we wanted a little treat on a hot evening:

Kiddie cone with pistachio soft serve and rainbow sprinkles to cap off 15 miles!  Yum!  I love my new helmet, by the way.

I was mulching in the garden tonight and had quite the scare.  I had an open bag of mulch that was in the garden bed since the other day and we had rain last night, so the mulch was all damp.  I pulled out a hand full of mulch and it moved!  Scared the bejeezus out of me.  It was a toad LOL!  I think he was as scared as I was 😀  I hope he sticks around.  Maybe I need to fashion a toad house.  Yay – another project!

Our ice cream truck (that is in my street EVERY night but lucky for me I don’t like ice cream that much) plays a bell when it’s arriving, thankfully no music.

Although I’m not a huge fan of heat as you know, it sure would be nice to get some warmer weather here. We are having a Spring that’s in the top 5 of coldest Springs since 1900. Lots of rain and temperatures that are way too low for this time of year. But always look on the bright sight: here everything is über green too and it’s perfect weather for running.

We live in the country and have never seen an ice cream truck around here! It’s probably a good thing.

We had a snake in our pond last spring and ever since then I always look around carefully before getting close to the pond.

The toad would have freaked me out bigtime!

We have the humid weather and rain going on right now too. I need to put a towel down in front of the computer before I rest my arms on the desk or else it feels really sticky. :\

The ice cream truck rarely comes through our neighborhood!! The name on that truck is making me laugh!
I would have totally freaked out if I put my hand into a bag of mulch and it moved – glad it was just a toad!!

Now you’ve burst my bubble….it’s hot as blazes here and we’ve been longing for those cool temperatures we had in New York. Guess those are gone for awhile!

LOL at the “laziest cat in America”! Oh Pixie!!! I haven’t heard an ice cream truck in YEARS…but I do remember one that played Scot Joplin’s “The Entertainer”. Over and over and over.. 🙂
I LOL at the name “Mr. Ding a Ling” too…I’m childish!! 🙂 Have a great Friday Lori!

Too funny about the toad! I would have screamed had it been me. I adore that tippy pot display – you did a great job with it.

I used to tell my kids that the ice cream truck was the music truck – it fooled them for years!

We live in the “sticks” so I haven’t seen an icecream truck since our last neighborhood, which would be 13 years ago. I don’t even know what song is that it played, but its the same song I’ve known since I was little!

Hope the weather holds out for a long ride this weekend!

Oh my goodness. I thought you were going to say you pulled out a snake! But yes, if it moved, I would have screamed and tossed it. And I like toads! I put a broken pot upside down for the toads that used to hang around, but I’ve never found one using it.

I need to do enough exercise this weekend to justify some froyo!!

I’m pretty sure the ice cream truck that went by our house yesterday was playing, “Jingle Bells.” I’ll have to listen next time it comes by. I could be mistaken….it happens sometimes! Too funny about the toad.

I love the sprinkles on your ice cream cone. So fancy 🙂 I’m diligently walking my favorite bike path, knowing that when this knee gets replaced, I will be prepared to ride with YOU one day, my friend!

What a horrible name for an ice cream truck!! They need to think seriously about re-branding! (Where I’m from, Mr. Ding-a-Ling makes him sound like a pedophile). Way to ruin an ice cream craving!

I love that Pixie pic – looks good to me! 🙂

OK, the ice cream truck cracked me up – LOL!! Your soft serve was more enticing with the sprinkles – YUM!

OMG on the toad – I might have had a heart attack! YIKES!
