Halfway there!

Thursday – yay!  Getting closer to the weekend.  I am sorry I haven’t been to blogs this week.  I switched over to The Old Reader for my feed and it has been down for the last few days, much to my annoyance (those of you that use that reader also probably feel this way).  So, my reading is way behind.  And then I read, but don’t comment.  Just to let you know I am around!

I also have just been feeling frazzled lately, which is thanks to my job.  My new computer is still not set up with work.  It’s still in the process.   🙄  It has to be done remotely, and getting IT to actually get it finished has been a chore and a half (maybe even 2 chores).  It’s really trying my patience.  It’s a good thing my old computer is barely hanging in there so that I can keep working or I would have had at least a week of unpaid vacation without a computer.

Anyway, I did mark a milestone on this morning’s ride! I had the computer set to the season odometer so I could catch this:

That is now halfway to my goal of 2500 road miles this year!  I figured if I could get halfway there by the end of July, I would have a good shot and here I am.  I probably just jinxed us with an early winter, though  😆

Not to mention that it was in the upper 50s for my ride today.  I was wearing a long sleeve shirt!  It felt really nice.  It was a perfect summer day – mid 70s and sunny. That’s why we live here – for these beautiful summer days (and fall color).

Lunch time!

I did the cheesy crockpot chicken chili the other day with the drop in temps and we have been eating it this week. Yum!

John was out doing errands and picked up a latte for me at Coffee Planet on his way home for afternoon snack.  It is cooler and that means Pixie got back into lap mode, although she was excited at me taking a picture.

This is what I was trying to get:

I seem to have my fingers in a lot of pies and they are all half eaten, so to speak.  I finally got one of the drawers done.  Remember these foundling drawers?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Well, I took one and added a shelf.  Here are some shots of me and power tools (safety first, remember!).

Then I painted it white – which ended up taking the longest to do because I got way busy and then it was too hot to be in the garage painting.

Voila!  I actually like it sitting upright.  It’s flipped upside down from the original picture, which actually gives it a nice base to stand on. If I put the handle hardware back on, I will have to hang it up.  Just deep enough to hold someone’s coffee cup of their favorite football team – who will be going to the Super Bowl this year!

Ground turkey back in the house again!  I had a turkey burger for dinner topped with laughing cow cheese and a good amount of Franks’s hot sauce.

Another chilly night tonight.  I have my snack ready for later:

I don’t mess around when I eat blueberries!

Wish me luck tomorrow that I might actually get finished the tech support and work set up on Friday.

Hah! My next blog entry reads a lot like yours–sans cat and coffee. The TOR outage, frazzled, projects in the works–too much going on! 🙂

Fingers crossed on the tech issues!

Oh I do so hope that you will get your computer stuff straightened out. What a nightmare.

Your recipe came along just in time! I had in my mind some kind of chicken-tomato crockpot thing. I love the idea of the corn and chills. Not so much the beans and cheese. This gives me a good starting point!

SOOOO impressed with your bike mileage! And your home improvement projects. I feel a little the same as you–so many things going on–but they are all of the fabric/art persuasion. Fun though.

Looking forward to your weekend ride. Hope your cool weather stays that long for you!

I try to do 5 miles 5 days a week if my walk/jog. I admire your biking goals. I know you can do it. Determination. I think we have all learner much of that with our journey’s.

Wow that is a lot of miles – hooray for hitting the 1/2 way point!!!
I can’t imagine having soup right now – I guess if it is getting down to 50 though…
Hope they finally get everything set up with your computer so you can get to work!!

Good luck with your computer. It is frustrating when things aren’t working. Congrats on your halfway road miles! Love what you did with the foundling drawer. It makes a great white shelf! You are certainly very handy, Lori!

Congrats on the biking milestone, can’t wait to see you finish!
I’m the same way with blueberries, no one else in the house gets any. I justify the expense by telling myself it’s okay because I don’t spend money or calories on alcohol. Well, just a rare sugar free strawberry margarita 😉

How frustrating the computer/work issue must be especially since it appears to be out of your control. Hope it gets fixed soon. Not an advertisement here since everyone had to solve this issue in the best way for them, but I’ve had several blog friends mention frustration with the Old Reader. I immediately went to Feedly and never looked back. Have had no problems and I like it MUCH better than I ever liked Google Reader. Send those cool temps this way – sure could use them for moving next week.

I so feel your pain re: technical issues. REALLY hope they get it sorted out soon. I feel like I’m behind in blog reading too, life has been crazy in my neck of the woods too. Ack. Sometimes, life just gets in the way…and we understand! LOVE LOVE the pic of Pixie’s tail. So funny!
Congrats on the mileage too!! Have a great Friday and a GREAT weekend Lori!

UGH on the computer & work – sorry & hope you figure it out soon – well IT! 😉 My hubby always knew more than the IT people when I was in Corporate work.

LOVE the Pixie pics – 🙂

Glad you got cooler & got to ride & you are getting closer to your goal – whether you make it or not – still a huge accomplishment for what you do!

I am so in awe of your handywork! 🙂

Hope you got everything set up on the new computer by now.

That shot of Pixie’s tail in your photo is so funny.

    Lori,

Your doing such a great job meeting your goals. Your pictures sometimes are too funny, love the picture with Pixie’s tail dragging across your face. Reminds me of my life with my cats.
