Christmas in the Country

Thank you for the well wishes on my back. I have some serious pain meds and now I just don’t care about the pain Yay!!  It’s kind of scary, though. I can see how easily addiction to narcotics could happen.  I did try to take it easy this weekend, but we did manage to get some things done – like work on our table!  I can do sanding and stuff that doesn’t require lifting or pulling.

The 3 center supports are also in there, but I didn’t get a shot of that.  It actually is starting to look like a table now and not just a pile of wood.  Building the top is next, then sanding and staining.

On Sunday, we did our usual Christmas in the Country, which is a driving tour of a bunch of homes where people sell handmade goods.  It’s a lot of fun.  I shouldn’t be driving while on the narcotics, so John drove me and my mother around and my sister and her girls came as well. Poor John and all of us girls 😈

My peeps!

Do you love that house, too?  Jealous!

Here are some of the things we saw on the tour:

Look at the creeper in the reflection, too, and I don’t mean John 😉

This pig was a riot.  Very friendly. This was at a farm that had cheeses and baked goods.

They had baby calves, too!

These metal sculptures are amazing. It’s all different pieces of repurposed metal made into animals. She likes horses, it seems.

It’s really as much fun looking at these houses as it is shopping!  It was a cold day, though, and good to get home and turn on the fleece blanket 😀

You are so positive…it might be the drugs! 😀

Glad you had a nice day out. Great pictures, I really like the metal horses and that big fireplace.

Okay I’m not a jealous person but now I am a bit because of the tour: love it! and the houses love it too! I remember you did this last year and remember I was jealous then too. We don’t have things like that around where I live. Too bad!

But back to you: great day, looks like a lot of fun and glad to hear the back pain is less.

I’m glad the pain is manageable now – with my neck issues lately I am totally sympathetic. It’s amazing how much we take being pain-free for granted until there is an issue. Heal quickly Lori!

I love the group shot you took. What a wonderful looking group. You need to find someone to take the photo next time so you can be in there too. 🙂

That first house with the stone work? Gorgeous! Hopefully you are feeling better today – I didn’t even see if your Broncos won or not, all I know is that I took first place with my pics between my husband and step-son – drives them crazy when I win because I know noting about football!

What a great way to spend the day – and I love those metal sculptures! Really cool.

Glad the painkillers are, you know, killing the pain. Keep resting, my friend.

I LOVE that first family pic & yes, that house is beautiful!!! I really want to be by that fire though. I know we are babies out here but it is cold for us!

Thanks to you and John for taking me along on the tour. It was a great day! Yes, I could have stayed by that fireplace all afternoon.

    Hey Lori,
Just wanted to say I’m thrilled to death about yours and John’s new house. It is soooo lovely! I am jealous! But in a good way. I hope that you keep up the pics while you are renovating. Your readers love pics of progress you know. Congratulations!!! Also, I LOVED the table. I think I may want to try to make one of those myself someday.
