Not so Super Bowl

Of course, you all know I was pretty excited about Sunday, whether the outcome was good or bad.

The weather was relatively warm – it hit almost 40 degrees, which pretty much felt like Nirvana after all the cold.  I got some exercise by getting in a walk and then a lifting workout:

Exercise Set/reps
Plie Squats with dumbbell 3 sets of 10
Single Arm Dumbbell Row 3 sets of 10 each side
Dumbbell Chest Press 3 sets of 10
Good Mornings 3 sets of 10
Overhead Dumbbell Press 3 sets of 10
Triceps Kickback 3 sets of 10
Trunk Twist 3 sets of 10 each side
Low Back Extension 3 sets of 10

We hosted the Super Bowl party for the first time since we moved here. I love having people over.  However, I managed to muck up my back in the afternoon. Doing nothing as usual, just putting dishes away and I felt that unfortunately familiar grab in my back.  The original herniated disk, not the newer one  🙄  Effin’ A. I am pissed if it gets worse. I can only wait and see. At least I still have the good pain pills if I need them, but hoping I don’t.

I did up my nails with super bling!  Doing the little gems just about made me blind working with tweezers, so not sure I will be doing that too often LOL!

Good hosts that we are, we set up a non-football TV for those that were not interested in the game. (Wut???) Although, I probably should have sat out there instead.

Our spread.  Dips, pretzel bites, ribs, kettle corn, etc.  – and some clemetines for the health halo 😀

It’s been 15 years since the last time the Broncos were in the Super Bowl, and I forgot what it’s like to have your team playing in that game.  If they aren’t, you just kind of root for another team, but aren’t so emotionally invested.

It’s just a shame the game wasn’t even close.  It somehow just doesn’t seem right.  Sorry Seahawks fans, but it’s like evil vanquished good.  The good guys don’t always win.  However, this pretty much guarantees Peyton will be back next year (unless he is out for medical reasons) – he won’t end his career on this note.

Go Broncos – I will have my jersey ready for next year!

I KNOOOOW that loss by the Broncos was unbelieveable! I don’t think the Broncos knew what hit them. Crazy. You could blame it all on the Broncos defense but even Peyton seemed not quite ‘with it’ either. They were not the team i’m used to watching. So sad! But like you i will be ready to cheer them on next year! Hugs! deb

Well your nails looked great, even if the Broncos didn’t – I don’t know what happened, but boy howdy, it just was not their night, right from the start. Sad…no one, no matter what team they root for, wants such a lopsided game.

    Hope your back feels better.

Sorry about that,Lori. Your nails look fabulous.if only they knew how hard you worked on them, they probably would have tried harder?

Oh brother on the back.you be careful with that!

I understand in the news your team didn’t win? So sorry to hear that but hey: they were in the final. That means something!

    Love your nails.

I am hoping you woke up today with your back feeling better…

That was one lopsided Superbowl and I don’t think anyone really enjoys those. We may have enjoyed the commercials more! 😉

It’s not worse, and maybe marginally better? Hard to say.

You know, I thought a lot of the commercials were lame this year, too. Best thing about the whole game was Renee Fleming.

From my World Series experience, I know well the feeling of getting all geared up for a great game and then have your team apparently not get the message that it was a Very Important Game.

So sorry your back flared up and seriously hope it’s just a flare up and not an all out attack. Do you think it could have been one of the lifting moves? (The low back extensions are out of my rotation for that very reason.)

Probably not the back extensions as those have never bothered my back with all it’s problems. It was likely a twisting motion putting away the dishes. I seem to have a back made of tinfoil or something.

I was thinking of you around halftime. Wow – I honestly thought it was going to be a blowout with DENVER on top…not the other way around. Doesn’t make it better that I hate several Seahawks players either. Just really disappointing. But yes, I hope it makes Manning want to come back another year. I’m going to be sad when he retires. Such a great player and role model.

Not a football fan but I’m from Seattle so I rooted for them. It was cool seeing the video of the streets celebrating from my friends in Seattle!

I was thinking of you yesterday Lori…I didn’t watch the game, but heard it wasn’t going well for your boys! They’ll get ’em next time! Love the nails…and sorry ’bout the back! Feel better soon!!!

Oh, no – so sorry that your back is acting up AGAIN!!!
Sorry that it wasn’t at least a better game – frustrating for Denver!!!
    Your nails look awesome, though!!
