What’s Blooming and Birthday!

First off, thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday through various outlets!  I had a great day, despite working mostly a full day.  I would have liked to take the day off, but we are planning a mini trip this weekend and so I will take that instead 🙂

That also meant I couldn’t do a 46 mile ride to celebrate the day, but we did get in 20 miles!

For dinner, I chose Siam Thai Sushi.  Not for sushi, but the curry and other dishes!  I actually had a beverage with my meal, which is a rarity.  I had a Thai iced coffee:

Cheers!

We split some crab rangoons:

Then I had the Spicy Cashew with scallops:

John had the pineapple fried rice (which we both love).

Then it poured rain all night!  We had family cake the night before – I am one who likes to stretch out the birthdays!

Anyway, enough about *me* – time for my garden!  😀

My last iris has opened up. I have been waiting 3 years for this to bloom after moving it to different places.  This is Tiger Honey.

Such an ususual color, too.

Yay!

My Allium bulgaricum.  Alliums come in all shapes and sizes and this is a cool one.

My other centaurea – which is called Black Sprite:

These are fun flowers. I do like the amethyst-in-snow the best, though.

It’s almost time for the roses!

Have a great weekend! We are off for some much needed R&R.

Somehow i totally missed it was your birthday Lori!!! So, belated Happy Happy Birthday woman!!!! Your garden is just gorgeous! Love that iris! I’ve never tried wave petunias at home but i can tell you they were not fun to take care of at the garden center…… mostly i think it was the soil they were planted in …some pots would dry out so fast while some remained soaked…uugh….I cannot WAIT to see your garden at your new house! Hugs! deb

Stretch that birthday out as long as you can! I see you whooped it up by ordering that beverage 😉

Now, will you move that Tiger Iris when your new place is finally yours?

I will probably take some rhizomes with me. It all depends on when we close on the house. If it isn’t until winter, I may not be able to get any of my plants before we well the house.

Gorgeous garden. How DO you DO that? I can’t make anything grow, but I enjoy seeing the pictures posted by those who can.

Happy Birthday Lori! I’m so sorry I missed it, but it looks like you had a nice celebration in spite of my oversight : )

I literally gasped out loud at that iris!–it is stunning. I must get some bearded iris. And then eventually, we can exchange irises. Haha, maybe in 5 years I guess.

Sounds like you had a great birthday! Oh and the fighting over whom I would visit: you don’t have to worry, you are at the top of the list 🙂

Garden looks beautiful. I saw a lot of little gardens with flowers on my walk today and thought about you often, you would have loved it.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend so far.
