Scenes from a weekend

Was that a weekend that just blew by? I think I missed it!  It was a lot of little things all mooshed in there.  We had a party to go to, so after I did some work Saturday morning, we headed out for a ride.  Just loops around to get in a quick 24 miles with a stop downtown.  This is the new-ish bike shop in downtown Glens Falls:

I wish I could afford stuff there, but it’s a squidge out of my budget. Or many squidges out 😀

We headed to down my sister and BIL’s house for a BBQ. Dave celebrated his 50th birthday and we had a gathering.

I tried my hand at a hammock:

Sorry I blinded all of you with my pale legs 😀

We had a nice spread of food:

Raspberry rhubarb pie for the birthday boy!

Then we played ladder ball and some badminton.  I was pretty beat later LOL!

You never know what you will see at their house. We found some wild turkey eggs!

Not sure if that is an abandoned nest or not, so we will have to wait and see.

Sunday rain was forecast for later in the day, so we wanted to put in some miles on our breakfast ride.  We had our breakfast at Coffee Planet.

Then we did a quick creep around at Radiance Manor.  I have to say I am a little overwhelmed about the work the front landscaping needs.  Someone is taking care of the lawn, but the shrubbery is so overgrown that it is going to take forever to get it under control.

The back yard is lush and green. It will be nice to actually have a back yard, since we don’t have one now.

Come on house closing!

Little more riding:

This was a panic moment when I actually thought I lost my phone LOL! I had moved it from the back pocket on my jersey to my bag after we had stopped at the house and I thought we were going to have to backtrack over 5 miles to find it 😀

We ended up with a 30 mile ride done before noon, which was wonderful! Only 208 miles to go to meet my 400 mile goal. Right on schedule for now.

I also worked on Sunday. This new account is taking a long time to learn and it puts me behind, so I need to make up that time.  Good thing I had a 3 day weekend last week because I am going to end up with a 12 straight days of having to log in to work.  It will get better, though. Just have to tough it out for a bit.

I spy lots of Day Lilies in your new backyard!!! You’ll get the front shrubbery tamed in no time. I’m excited for you to get into the new place; can only imagine how you and John must be feeling!!!

There are daylilies back there! There are a couple of overgrown beds already in place so I have a good starting point.

The front we might have someone come and pull all that stuff out. The shrubs are actually half dead and I want something else anyway. Might just be better off starting with a clean slate there.

I hope y’all get a closing date soon – your new house is gorgeous and I can’t wait to see what all you do with the garden!!!

    Ladder ball?
It looks like a lovely manor house waiting for the lord and lady to come bring it back to glory.

Ooh, that backyard looks like a park to me already. Everything is so hot and dry out here. I just spent over an hour watering just to make sure things don’t die before tomorrow morning!

You had a busy but fun weekend, I think. Plus, way to go on getting that bike mileage in!

Glad that you had some fun and biking time, even though work was calling. Just keep telling yourself more work = more money = new stuff for Radiance Manor! I’m looking at that front shrubbery thinking I would pull it all out and start from scratch. You love gardening and it would be nice to have a clean slate and put in the things you and John like.

I wish it were extra money, but this work is just to catch up to where I should be line wise. The new account slows me down until I learn it, so I earn less per hour. Gotta love production work. I will get faster, though!

Radiance Manor is beautiful!!! I would love a yard too!!! Southern CA – it is hard to get anything here so expensive!!

Love the bday fun!!!!That hammock – ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 🙂

Looks to me you had a great weekend Lori (except for the work). I love, love, love your new house and I can’t wait till it’s closed and you are finally able to make it your home. And that garden: I am sure it’s going to look great in the end once it’s yours.

Hey I don’t know, but the more overrun the shrubs at RM look, the better the Lori before & after shots! I’ve been envisioning so many great things for your backyard too. It will be amazing. Are you able to bring your computer outside perhaps and work out there on nice days? That would be ridiculously awesome!

Hang in there with the new account. Not always easy to do but those darn paychecks are a teeny bit important… 🙂

I don’t know about working outside – it will depend on the WIFI signal, but I will try it LOL!

Those pesky bills really get in the way sometimes. Too bad the lottery is such a crap shoot.

Come on house closing! I know it’s killing you on how long this is taking. Sounds like a great weekend! 😀
