Riding and such.

Do you ever have one of those starts to the week? I did. On Sunday night, I decided to get a good start for the week by doing overnight slow cooker pumpkin oats for weekday breakfasts. I put all the dry ingredients together, but wanted to wait for the milk, pumpkin and water until right before I went to bed and turned the crock pot on. So I did that and got up the next morning to serve breakfast and what do I see? The unopened can of pumpkin sitting there next to the crock pot! D’oh! How does one forget the most important ingredient of pumpkin oats? I ended up just stirring it and it was fine, but man I feel like I am losing it sometimes.

Can you believe we are still riding? This is crazy!

I know it’s going to get chilly this weekend, but looking ahead to Christmas weekend and it’s supposed to be 50s.  It makes me wonder if it is actually possible to ride in January? Global warming.  I’m sure we will pay and pay hard for this later in the winter, though. The other thing with this warm weather is that I don’t expect Christmas to be next week. Eeeek!

Pixie seems to think it’s getting colder. She has been the lap queen when she isn’t sleeping on the radiators:

This is a little more unusual because Pixie wants my lap probably 95% of the time. Even if I have stuff in it and John’s is open. She knows who feeds her, I guess. I actually think it is because my lap is squishier and more comfortable 😀

I did get a better picture of the tree with the Rebel, too:

Still waiting to get that day off. Work has been pretty busy this week, so it hasn’t happened yet. Or I haven’t taken it yet, is what I should say. I need to just do it.  I was saying how this weekend I had no plans at all — at all — for the whole weekend. Then I started thinking of things I could do and John said, “like relax at the cafe, read a book, watch TV, pay attention to me”.  Since it doesn’t dawn on me to just relax! 😀  Those actually sound pretty good, though.

    Those sound really good indeed.

The weather is crazy here too: 62 degrees today. That’s insane for December. I searched online a bit for forecast and the experts say that it just can’t stay this warm and the weather will turn around in the beginning of 2016. We’ll see.

I have decided to buy a new camera this weekend. I found a nice deal for a Nikon online and will order it Saturday. It will be delivered on Monday when I’m home. (Actually can’t wait till Saturday but I won’t be home tomorrow and a part of Saturday and don’t want to miss the delivery 🙂 )

    Your tree is beautiful.

I am so excited for your camera! Are you getting extra lenses? I got a zoom and a macro, although I don’t use the macro much since the regular lens will do that. I’m already planning my next zoom lens 😀

Not yet, I want to learn the basics first. I just ordered it online, will be delivered tomorrow. I also found out I can follow a 3 hour workshop in a Zoo close to home for a very cheap price. Comes with the camera. Will do that.

The Christmas Tree looks great, Lori. I can’t get in the mood. With this warm weather, it doesn’t seem possible that Christmas could be only days away. Next Week?! Ahhhhhh! I better get crackin’!

Not much of a winter here either Lori. I think we’ve got three days now in the 40’s for the highs but then right back in the 50’s and 60’s…We bought an electric heating mattress pad for the bed and we turn it on a little while before we go to bed to warm up the sheets … so no climbing into a cold bed… Well , you know where Jinx hangs out…lol Hugs! deb

Well, I think its plenty cold here! I have a fire going every day. And the ground is frozen!

Yes, you need a day off. I’m sure that’s why you forgot the pumpkin 🙂 Looking forward to your relaxing weekend report!

Awww Pixie. My kitty is the same way. Fat Kitty will sit on my lap NO MATTER WHAT. Even if I have something on my lap. He’ll just crowbar himself right in. LOL

My niece bought a 2-pk of digital timers at Home Depot to use with her crockpot for that same purpose. She says she has a great apple and steel cut oats recipe if you are interested.

I love that you are still riding, but it was 36 here today and likely is headed your way. It FELT even colder.
