Go Broncos!

That weekend went by so fast! We did a lot of homebody stuff and stayed home this weekend other than a cafe outing and picking up stuff at the home improvement store 😀

The wallpaper is all down from the hallway and stairwell. We can almost taste the end of wallpaper in this house!  The plaster is in really good shape. Just a few holes from some screws, but that’s about it.

The walls got washed and we started putting the paint on. We moved the TV to the doorway so we could watch some football while painting:

It’s so tempting to just rip the paper down in the last room to get it all off the walls, but we can wait. We haven’t decided what color the exercise room will end up being yet anyway.

Pixie was a major fail at her job this weekend, which is to keep the squirrels out of the birdfeeder:

Squirrels aren’t supposed to like safflower seeds, which they haven’t eaten before, but this squirrel seemed happy to eat them.

I was ready for the afternoon game. Supporting my Broncos with my nails:

That was a crazy nail biter of a game. Now the Broncos go on to the divisional championship!  I really, really wish they weren’t playing the Patriots, though. I am not sure the Broncos will win and I am so, so tired of the Patriots in the Superbowl. Anyway, it’s going to be interesting!

Oh i know…. Even if the Broncos are having an incredible season the Patriots always give them trouble when they come up against them… that Brady guy… I would love , love, LOVE to see Peyton Manning go out with a bang… he’s had such an incredible career… Did you see the Cardinal / Packer game last night??? Crazy! Big Hugs!! deb

There was a man sitting with us at breakfast this morning, wearing a Steelers shirt – he said something like “oh, you guys probably don’t want to see my shirt today” and I was all “why??” – a football follower, I am not. But I’m happy for you that your team has advanced. GO LORI’S TEAM!!! 🙂

Pixie just wanted to lull that squirrel into a false sense of security. Watch – next time, she’ll bang the window so hard he’ll fall out of your feeder and never return…

I don’t see why in Texas you would care about a Steelers shirt. Maybe a Giants shirt, but not Steelers.

And Pixie – no. She will just watch the squirrel stuff his face like she did all weekend. I don’t know what I keep her around for…

Living in southeastern CT, I’m afraid I don’t agree with getting tired of seeing the Pats in the Superbowl! I have always loved Peyton Manning and admired his accomplishments, though, to say nothing of loving him in the pizza and Geico ads. LOL Love the picture of Pixie and squirrel friend. We have Zippedy and Doodah (cats), and I put black oil sunflower seeds out on the deck for the squirrels for the cats’ entertainment – the sliding door is their giant TV screen.

I think squirrels are ratty little billy goats – they’ll eat anything! I hope the Broncos beat pads off the Patriots! (But if they win and the Panthers win, my heart will be with Cam.)

I really hope the Broncos win, but if they don’t, I will be cheering so hard for the Panthers to completely obliterate the Pats in the Superbowl. I do fear that will happen even if the Broncos win because Carolina looks pretty scary.

Pixie is watching Squirrel TV! Our dog Ed would spend hours watching the squirrels on our deck. I haven’t paid any attention to football this year with Tony not here – brings back too many memories because whenever I hear football on t.v. I can hear his voice yelling at the t.v.! 🙁
