Good things

Finally some good and positive things around here.  We are finally *FINALLY* done with wallpaper removal at Radiance Manor! About a year and a half after we bought it. John finished the last room himself, for which I am most grateful. We never ever have to remove wallpaper from this house again! Now we are thinking wall colors. We got some sample paints and put them on the wall. I think people usually stay in one color family and get different sample tones, but we weren’t really sure about which color to go with. We ended up getting 3 samples we liked. A sage green, yellow and peach.

This was a natural daylight picture. We are leaning towards the green, but maybe a shade lighter. There will be pictures of maps and bicycles in this room for decoration.

I got a raise at my job for that new account I started a month ago. It’s just for that account and not the rest of my work, which is annoying as far as recording my paysheet, but I am happy that they gave it to me. The client is very pleased with my work. I’m the only one on it, so I own all mistakes and good work 😀  That will help start to build back up the savings after all those medical bills. It’s nice to have your hard work recognized.

When I haven’t been eating brownies  🙄 , I’ve been eating pretty well lately.  Some different breakfasts:

Oat bran with a sauteed banana on top and nut butter. Every time I take a picture of this meal, I think it looks like scallops.

This week I went more savory with breakfast. Chicken breakfast sausages and omelet:

Seems omelets have been making a more frequent appearance lately. One of my quick dinners:

John made slow cooker lasagna soup, which was really good!

More chicken (BBQ) with roasted sweet potatoes, carrots and broccoli.

I batch cooked the veggies and had them for SalMonday (can I trademark that?)

I think I am starting to get tired of chicken. Or maybe meat in general, I don’t know.

This afternoon I got my permanent crown put in. That seemed to take forever between the broken tooth, root canal, temporary crown and permanent one.  I did tell the dentist that I was tired of coming in LOL. On a fun note, we discussed gardening. I had made an offhans comment a couple times ago about the cold temps and how my garden was uncovered and he then took out his phone and started showing me pictures of the water feature he built last summer. 😀  Now each time I come in we talk gardening.

It’s March and I can start eagerly awaiting the tulips to start showing themselves. Even if they won’t bloom until April/May, just seeing them come out of the ground will feel pretty good!

Im soooo glad to hear you are DONE at the dentist.
I keep hearing from mine it’s time to replace old fillings (from my teens :)) and I keep procrastinating and, well, I know I so so should not 🙂

That are all good things! I love positive posts!

I would go for the green color too.

And happy to see other veggies on your plate as broccoli. Roasted veggies are always good, I like that a lot too.

I am so ready for Spring!

I like roasted veggies, too. It’s just getting around to doing them. You would think working from home would make it super easy, but just like an office job, you get caught up in work.

Is that your exercise room? I can’t make a judgement on paint for you until I know what room that is. (j/k hahahaha!)

Spring has definitely sprung I think, now to keep snow away for the rest of the winter!

I have a light sage green in my bedroom and love it – but I’m partial to anything “peach” as well. Ha ha

Although you have fun things to talk to the dentist about, let’s hope you don’t have to see him again for a while!!!

I like the green. Our kitchen is green, although a lighter color. Now John is leaning towards a yellow.

Woohoo, all GREAT things! Congratulations on the raise, and the recognition of your good work!!

No more wallpaper. An era has ended at Radiance Manor. 😉 Are you sure you don’t want LIME green for that room? I still adore my lime green office…bright, cheery, and it makes everything pop against it.

Love that you’ve developed a nice gardening friendship with your dentist, but I hope from now on you only have to see him at a local nursery.

Those bananas do look like scallops. I love roasted veggies, and they taste even better the second day. Sweeter! Congrats on the raise. It feels good to be recognized in that way!

When I saw the bananas in the first picture, I thought they were bananas, but I thought for some reason you had arranged them in sand!

Don’t get me started on the root canal, and how long that process takes! I went back yesterday, for what I thought was the final visit (on my re-root canal) and I was informed that I have to come back one more time for the final re-fill. Aaarrrgh. I just keep telling myself its better than the alternative–yanking the tooth out…

Congrats on the raise!! And I was surprised to see the roasted veggies on your plate. They look yummy.

Yes, keeping the tooth is good, but goodness, the cost and time of it! It ended up being over $1500 for the root canal and crown. We are thinking of adding dental onto our insurance plan.

We have the poster of the history of bike types, which is cool. Now to find some maps – or there is still the thought of a King of the Mountain wall LOL.

Congrats on being wallpaper-free!!! That is a nice shade of green. We (or I should say, my husband) just finished repainting and putting carpet tiles in our daughter’s room – it really made me re-appreciate how much work goes into a “simple” repaint job (he re-sanded the drywall he put in and also repainted the ceiling, so a little more work than your average painting). She went with a shade of green that looks exactly like mint chip ice cream!

And also congrats on your raise – that is awesome!

I actually love that sage color! That yellow kitchen was the color of my old kitchen before I met Tony and while I loved the tiny patch of it on, after I did the whole kitchen it was a little too bright!

Glad at least with talking about gardening with the dentist it takes your mind off of why you are actually there 😀

BIG yay for the end of the dental work, and the wallpaper being done. Spring has sprung here, and I had a word with Mother Nature and told her to get herself down to NY State and go and see you!!! (hopefully she listens to me)
    Have a great weekend!!!
