Seasonal Fruits

You all know I love fruit!  Of course, nowadays we can buy pretty much any fruit at any time of the year in the grocery store, but there are certain times of the year where fruits taste their best.

I was sent this graphic by Shari’s Berries about when fruits are at their peak. I didn’t receive any compensation for this. I’m just passing the graphic along because it’s good to know.

Two of my favorites are in season right now, blueberries and strawberries! Has anyone every had a Tayberry?  I’m totally curious now.

I’ve never even heard of a tayberry. So now I need to go research them. Great graphic by the way, thanks!

That was some good information. I’m a little confused about the dates on the chart. Aren’t they a dried fruit, and so they would be in season year round?

I had to look that up myself. Apparently dates can be very fresh and are super soft without that firmer skin and crystals like you get in the store. It makes me want to try to find some, but I think it would be hard in NY since most dates are grown in CA and AZ.

I always eat fruits when it’s in season, just thought about it this morning that I need to buy some tomorrow. My favorite in season are strawberries, raspberries and peaches/nectarines.
