Time to recharge

It’s been a little hectic and busy the last couple weeks. Between working and last weekend doing the show the whole weekend and a garage sale Friday and Sunday, I am ready for a break.

We were trying to do all the families for a garage sale, but it’s hard to coordinate weekends. It just ended up with me and my mom. She brought over stuff from their house and John and I dragged up other things.

Lots of interesting stuff (I thought).

I got up early on Saturday for a ride because of the sale and heat. Well, I guess I was just up early and decided to go for a ride. I can’t sleep in to save my life.  6:30 a.m.

I’m pretty chipper here considering it was before coffee! 😀  Biking will do that.

I am so glad we had the tent set up to sit under because it was hot, hot, hot!  We did not do bad selling stuff and got rid of some things that we really wanted to, so that was good. Still a lot of things headed over to donate, though!  I put the white trunk out just to see if it would go before I restore it, but it didn’t.

Pixie was so happy I didn’t sell it that she jumped right on it when I brought it inside.

Sunday finally came rest day and after a couple weekends of talking to a lot of people and having doctors yammering into my ears during the week, introverted me wanted nothing to do with people on Sunday. My only interaction was placing an order for breakfast.

I recycled this picture, but same place and food, so it’s all good.

Then I took myself on a 25 mile ride to decompress:

John was away this weekend and so I got to be a complete hermit on Sunday. I find talking to a lot of people very exhausting and have to just isolate myself for  a while. I guess that’s the introvert that I am!

I’m the same way (introvert.) Pretty much these days, I get plenty of alone time. Sometimes I have to make myself get out and be a little sociable.

Your copper lights look nice in the garden. Don’t you love looking out the window and seeing all of them glowing?

Ha, Pixie looks like, “That wasn’t funny, stop fooling around.”

I have to rev myself up for any social events that last more than a hour, so I understand. Happy you could get a ride in – and early is good because it’s cooler!

I so get the need to just be alone and quiet. I’m jealous of your alone/recharging time. I haven’t had any lately at all as we’ve had family functions, graduations, birthdays, etc. for the last 4 weekends with another coming up this weekend. Too much! Usually I get Sunday all by myself but Mr. Helen has even had the last few Sundays off so we were together. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I’m looking forward to this coming Sunday!

I can’t believe you ride without coffee first.

I can ride about 30-40 before breakfast and that’s about it. That’s our limit before getting to bagels 😀

::raises hand:: Introvert here as well. I actually relish the days when I don’t talk to anyone. Doesn’t happen too often, but I think I’ve already gotten my interaction with people finished for the day – early morning walk with a friend, followed by grocery shopping. Now I’m home and it’s just me and the pets for the next 24 hours…ahhh.

P.S. I’m intrigued by that mustard yellow round table – is it metal?

That table is a really cheap MDF table. My mom got a pair of them out of a catalog and they are really flimsy. A sticker on the bottom says not to put more than 10 pounds on it. Someone bought it for $4, though.

Totally ‘get’ the introverted thing…. Oh i can do it… i can be friendly and outgoing and social… for a while.. but like you said after a while i need some ‘me’ time to decompress. It can really wear me out… Monday hubs want to celebrate out on the lake in his friends fishing boat to see the fireworks… One i’m not so fond of boats….two i’m not so fond of all the bugs gonna be out there…. three…. 4 people on a small boat………uuughhh…. But hubby really wants to do this so i’m girding my loins…………uuughh.. 🙂 Hugs! deb

Hot is 95* with the humidity 85*!!! That’s what it is here in Orlando right now!! Your summers are beautiful.

I am not introvert but I love being alone, so does R. When he said he wanted to work 36 hours and have 1 day off in 2 weeks like me, I said okay but not on the same day as me 🙂 Now we have our day off on different days and we both love having a day for ourselves.

I totally get that. I try and keep one day on the weekend as a “hide from people” day. It’s usually Sunday, too. I go swimming and then often spend the rest of the day relaxing at home, watching Netflix. Well, at least that was before having a baby. LOL but I don’t mind being with him. 🙂

While I don’t mind my alone time, I do seek socialization, which is why I am loving the farmers markets and talking to people. Not kidding I’ve worked with some people who tell me “you can do all the talking because I don’t want to talk today.” Well, how do you work a farmers market without speaking?!

Glad you got to recharge 😀

Although I will admit then, come monday, Im ready for people again.
But 24hrs of solo is my heaven.
