Rush Pond Hike

We decided to go on a hike this weekend. Do you know this is the first hike we have done all year?  Other than hiking all over Ireland. Time just get away from us and we spent a lot of time on the bikes.

Saturday was a gorgeous day, about 60 degrees and sunny. This is a trail that we pass by on one of our regular bike routes, so I wanted to check it out.

Colors are a poppin’ now.

This is really a beautiful trail. Much different from our mountain hikes.

The path is pretty smooth and well marked. A few climbs here and there, but not too hard.

Not sure why this is off to the side. It kind of seems like something you would see on a mini golf course or a theme park LOL

The sun was streaming through the leaves of this tree.  It looks like an instragram filter or something.

The hike ended up exactly 5 miles. It’s such an enjoyable trail and I could see doing some winter hiking here. We thought about cross country skiing, but some of the hills are too steep for newbie skiers 😀

More Ireland posts coming this week!

Looks like a lovely trail. Speaking from experience, you can take the skiis off to walk the hills.

Been doing a hit and run with blogs lately, but enjoying your Ireland adventure.

Such a beautiful hike! The changing colors, and the photos you took capturing the light are just beautiful. Our trees are just starting to have a little fall color this weekend, along with the non-stop rain–NOT THAT I’M COMPLAINING!! 🙂

It was a good time of day to capture the light because it was at an angle. I wish I was a better photographer.

Such pretty pictures! I love your fall color! We don’t have a fall season here in Florida
so I will enjoy looking at yours through your pictures.
Down here I will continue to get blooms on my roses probably through mid-December.
That is the one thing I don’t envy your shorter growing season.
Love reading about all your adventures.

I think fall and fall temperatures lend themselves to hiking. Nice to change things up once in a while too. That is a beautiful and well kept trail.

What a pretty area! Loving all of the fall leaf pictures from my east coast peeps!

I guess that car was left there after an accident – maybe it was too hard or costly to remove it back in the day and now it’s part of the ecosystem?

Woohoo a hiking post! You couldn’t make me happier 🙂

What a lovely trail to hike. I think it will be beautiful in Winter too with a little snow or on a perfect cold Winter day with a blue sky.
