Super bowl sunday!

I have to be honest. This year I don’t care much about the Super Bowl. My Broncos aren’t in it and I am really tired of the Patriots.  Of course, that doesn’t stop us from having a get together ๐Ÿ˜€

.

Too much food, as usual ?

The game unfortunately ended poorly for the Falcons. Gahh!

We are pretty close to wrapping up my parents’ kitchen. Just the last few details. I’m looking forward to having some down time.

I finally broke out my coloring books again:

Coloring is very soothing to me. I need to buy a lamp so I can color at my new (old) desk at night.

This guy has come back around. We haven’t seen him in a while, so it was good to see.

He was really close to the house. I’ll be continuing to make our property a haven for birds and pollinators this year. Spring is coming soon, right?

Haha, when I am reminded that it is super bowl sunday, I have to think of some snack food I can have myself. I had some chicken tortilla soup in the fridge, and got out my bag of very stale tortilla chips to top it off. That did the trick ๐Ÿ™‚

I love seeing woodpeckers. You’d think we’d have a ton of them around here, with all the bark beetles invading our pine trees. I only hear them occasionally, and see them even less frequently.

We have a lot of downy woodpeckers. There was a family of them last year, which was so cute with the babies. The pileated comes around, but not as often as I would like.

I made just the two of us a spread for the Superbowl and our team wasn’t in it either. Way too much food – both appetizers and a sort of meal – but as we don’t mind leftovers, we’ll eat the them at least a couple times this week. I’ll probably get sick of them before Mr. Helen as that seems to be the pattern.

I keep hoping spring is around the corner but then this morning the weather guy said snow for Thursday. I guess it wouldn’t be February without some sort of snow.

We are actually getting some rain this week with warmer weather! It’s been a dry winter so far. Usually we get hit with something around Valentine’s Day, so we have to wait and see next week.

    Which coloring book is that?

I love coloring — don’t do it as much these days as I did pre-baby but when I get a chance I do. I finding it relaxing (and a good way to disconnect from my phone) while watching TV but it the designs are too involved or intricate they stress me out. LOL Then I feel like it’s a chore I need to finish!

This is Secret Garden by Johanna Basford. I love her books because most of the designs are like mirror images and for some reason I find that very satisfying.

    Hi Lori.

I second that question – what coloring book are you using? I enjoy coloring too but the tiny designs really mess with my vestibular disorder and I can get nauseous just from looking at the page! That’s not too relaxing. The book you have looks great – for your coloring and my vestibularly related visual issues ๐Ÿ™‚

Guess you won’t be surprised I didn’t watch it ๐Ÿ™‚ although it has been on the news here that the Patriots won.

I tried the colouring books but just don’t enjoy it. I make nonograms for years now and still not bored by it.
