April goal check and new May goals

It’s already May 3rd. How did that happen?

I didn’t really do so great on my April goals. Oops!

  1. Make a schedule for business. This I did, at least a preliminary one. I have a chalkboard that I wrote specific tasks for specific days. It needs work and I have to add more stuff, but it certainly has helped.
  2. Clean my closet. Oops. I did not do this. It’s probably even messier now than at the beginning of April LOL!
  3. Follow disciplined eating. I kind of was middling on this one. Snacking is starting to happen too much.
  4. Decide on whether or not to join the gym. I did decide not to join the gym for now. With all the the outdoor work and biking to do, I will work on strength training at home.

Okay, maybe that wasn’t too bad.

May Goals:

  1. I am moving closet cleaning to this month. Darn it. I’m going to do it  😀
  2. Work on my desk. I have the wood parts patched, but the desk is just sitting like that. I need to paint the bottom and try to refinish the top.
  3. Count my calories more closely. I have been semi journaling my food. I need to be tracking it all to see if that curbs the snacking.
  4. Get back on track with our master cleaning list. It works when we stick with it, but it’s easy to get side tracked.

Okay – hold me to the closet cleaning!! I don’t want to be hanging my head come June 😀

Closet cleaning is a bugger! Its hard to start, but once I do, I tend to be fairly ruthless. And it feels so good when its done.

I empathize about the closet thing. It’s such a time suck.

My closet looks like a bomb went off especially with the 70-degrees one day, 40-degrees the next weather we’ve been having. It seems every year I end up spending Memorial Day weekend cleaning, sorting, and changing over seasonal clothes. And it looks like that’s about the time frame that is going to work out for me this year too.

OMG I wish I could come out and help you clean your closet. I love getting mine organized and would love to help you with yours! ::shakes fist:: where is time travel when I need it??

The only way I can do closet (or other big cleaning stuff, like a pantry) is to break it down into manageable pieces. “Clean the closet” is overwhelming and also ambiguous. Try making a goal list of “clean the top shelf,” or “organize the shoes.” And then just tackle ONE of those things at a time.

Yep, I am with Helen – I can’t put my winter stuff away because I am still wearing a winter coat to work every day! I will say though after I redid my closet after taking Tony’s clothes out of it, and getting appropriate organizational baskets, etc., I’ve pretty much kept up with keeping it clean. I just wish I knew what happened to all my unmatched socks – I literally have at least a dozen single socks – where do they go?!
