Blood Donation day!

Well, that time has rolled around again! Donated blood this morning.

If you can, please do it, only takes about an hour of your time to save up to 3 lives!

Yum, there were giant gold fish graham crackers on the snack table!

28 Day Body Shapeover Day 5

Day 5, which is strength training day:

Back, chest, abs

Incline Chest Press: 4×10 35 pounds
Dumbbell Flat Press: 3×10 18 pounds
Dumbbell Incline Fly: 3 x 10 13 pounds
Seated Lat Row: 4 x 10 45 pounds
One-Arm Dumbbell Row: 3 x 10 13 pounds
Lying Lat Fly: 3 x 10 45 pounds (really hard!!)
Twisting Crunch: 3 x 10
Reverse Crunch: 3 x 10

Also a 30 minute walk. Did my blood donation fine. Drank extra water as well. My blood pressure is usually on the low side, and today was no exception 90/68. The vein started to collapse at the end, and the tech had to reapply the tourniquet to get me to finish. That’s annoying! Made my arm a little sore, I have to say.

We went to our usual pizza place for dinner, and instead of splitting a calzone like we normally do – I got a pizza wrap. Like a calzone, only it was in a whole wheat wrap instead of dough. Much better choice and really tasty! Paired with a side salad. Yum!

Blood donation

I will be donating blood later today. If you are able, please think about donating. It takes about an hour of your time, and you can save up to 3 lives!

Blood shortages are typically low around the summer holidays.

It's Monday!

Today seemed really long for some reason. It now feels like Tuesday, and tomorrow should be Wednesday. Every have days like that?

I got up early to get in my cardio. Since I gave blood this afternoon, I wanted to give my body time to recover, and so that I wouldn’t have an excuse *not* to exercise.
The tech missed my vein this time – just like last time. She had to call over a supervisor to fix it. Ouch! My veins are really large, I cannot believe this happened twice in a row.

It’s kind of neat each time I donate, they ask the weight and I realize it is usually about 10 pounds lower than the previous time. It felt really weird saying I was in the 150s, it still does not seem real! I had some Lorna Doones at the snack table. There was a real food pusher there as a volunteer. She wanted me to drink something other than water (not sure why), and kept pushing more cookies at me. Geez. I left fairly quickly, because it was really bothering me.

The blood bank always can use a donation!

Blood donation

Today I donated blood. So, I allowed myself a couple packs of cookies at the snack table. Then we went out for soup and coffee for dinner. Did about 1800 in calories today.
I moved my workout to the morning so that I wouldn’t have an excuse to not workout by donating blood. I reviewed the month, and I exercised every single day in February, drank 64 ounces of water every single day, and had 10 days where I went off plan just a bit. Very pleased with that. I want to live life 90% on plan, and this month was a good example of that.

There currently is a blood shortage – so go to http://www.donatebloodnow.org/ and sign up to donate. It takes less than an hour from start to finish, and you can save up to 3 lives!

Blood donation today

Hi everyone! Don’t forget to donate blood this fall! As we approach the holiday season, blood shortages occur. It takes less than an hour, and really is painless. Go to givebloodnow.org to find a donation center near you!

Sometimes I think my tastes must be really weird. I read the NS boards and really enjoy a lot of the foods that others don’t. And the foods are not spicy at all! Although that I understand, since it is hard to make a food too hot for me to eat 🙂
Last night I put hot sauce on the 3cheese chicken with pasta. Yumm!!!!

I don’t like how Nutrisystem edits your auto delivery without notifying you. The trail mix bar is low inventory, so every had their orders changed to cheese tortellini! Yuck! You would think they would have at least subbed it with another type of bar.
Good thing my order isn’t to ship until at least the 11th of November, unless I delay it some more.
