Bagel day!

The Attune bar giveaway ends on Thursday, so don’t forget to enter if you haven’t yet!

It’s Bagel Day!  I love my bagel days 😀

Since I am resting from lifting this week, I decided not to go to the gym this morning.  I didn’t really want to run 3 days in a row, so I decided to do  it old school today with a Walk Away The Pounds DVD.

I kind of forgot how annoying Leslie can get 😀  (just kidding…kind of). This is a nice workout, though.

Then it was a shower and off to the cafe.  They probably didn’t recognize me because I was showered and not wearing my hat.  Noshing ensued:

I can feel spring coming!  I so badly want to break the bike out with temps in the upper 30s.  Too bad the bike trails are still covered with snow.  When I see the tulip buds, then I know we are on the way.  But, the snow has to melt first.   I decided to think even warmer and have a Mediterranean theme for lunch – tuna and hummus topped with sundried tomatoes on a tortilla (okay, a little Mexican thrown in there).  Plus some brussel sprouts.

That was a change up for lunch!  Then there was a lot more working.  Busy right now.

Snack of champions to go with my latte.

Speaking of coffee, I got this question:

Do you have any coffee before your afternoon Latte? Do you have any in the morning with breakfast or before your workout? why or why not?

Oh my, yes.  I do have coffee every morning with breakfast.  We make cafe au lait, where we heat up 1/2 cup of milk, froth it up and fill the mug with coffee.  I just don’t take a picture of it because I am usually drinking it 😀  I have 2 of those with breakfast (to equal 1 cup of milk).

I do not have coffee before my workout just because I don’t have time, as I just eat my preworkout snack and go. I don’t want to make some and try to slug it down.  I like to savor my coffee.  However, if it were already made when I got up, I would probably drink some before leaving the house. If I could get John’s butt out of bed at 6:30, maybe he could make the coffee….

I didn’t get a picture of dinner, but it was Kashi cereal and a tortilla on the way out the door.  Now that is nourishment for you.  I had to leave the house at 5, so it didn’t leave time to fix dinner.  Dog training tonight!  Storm is my job.  He is better at this stuff than I am, since he gets training and I just wing it each week 😀

Look how he loves me.  It’s really because I was the keeper of the cheese tonight.  Food rulz for doggies.

Then there is my dad and Lizzie – she is getting big.   6 months old now.

Speaking of the snack of champions, I brought home stellar nutrition for John and I after class was over.  Did I mention that Dunkins is only 1/2 mile from my house?

Flash picture, sorry about that.  Now I have to get back to work and finish up a little bit.

Question:  Coffee, tea, neither, or both?

Ice cream!!

I have to admit, I miss my exercise routine!  Today was just a 30 minute walk outside.  I actually should have done more considering what I ended my day with!

Rest days are just as important as the training days, though!  That is when the body makes repairs and builds strength – not on the actual day you are working out.  Plus, there isn’t anything I could do this week that would get me any faster in any of the events.

Had a lovely bowl of oats this morning:

  • p70900011/2 cup of oats
  • 1 small banana
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • topped with 2 tsp of homemade peanut butter

Today is my Friday!  Got right to work to be done as soon as possible. Lunch was had at the computer – another spinach smoothie:

  • p7090002several large handfuls of spinach
  • 1 scoop Jay Robb strawberry protein powder
  • frozen tropical fruit mix

Plus a Luna bar

John went to pick up some coffee from Dunkin Donuts this afternoon, as the dishwasher was running with our latte stuff in mid afternoon.  DD is only about a mile from our house (eeek!). I wanted a skim latte with just cinnamon flavor.  He came back and I tasted it.  They put Splenda in it!! YUCK!!!  He didn’t ask for it sweetened, why on earth would they do that?  So, we ended up trading drinks as he had gotten a decaf coffee with milk.  I cannot abide the taste of Splenda, so I couldn’t even choke it down if I wanted to.  Should have walked back there – but it was nice of John to trade.  I was pouty, so I got some of these to have with it since I didn’t get my latte:p7090004

John kindly grilled some chicken tonight while I finished up work.  Plus extra so we have it at the ready in the fridge!  Yay!

After dinner, we did some ‘research’ for a possible new business that John is thinking about, which led us here:

And somehow I ended up with this:

Cannoli ice cream!  Cheesecake ice cream with chocolate waffle cone pieces and anise flavor.  This was *1* scoop.  Good thing I didn’t get 2!  So delicious, though.  I do love my frozen yogurt, but the ice cream is so good.

My weekend starts tomorrow and I took Sunday off of work, so I get a 3-day weekend!  Yay!  I didn’t want to come back and have to work after doing the triathlon, so that is worth taking PTO.

Question:  Do you ever eat something that you don’t want just to not waste it?

No stress eating!

Got a call from my tenants today that water was pouring through the ceiling. Just what I need! Had them shut the water off in the basement. Called a plumber and got over there in 1/2 an hour. I had the forethought to grab a small handful of nuts, so that I wouldn’t be too hungry.

Had to put a hole in the wall to check the bathroom plumbing, as there is no access panel. Turns out – no leaks. The plumber had a camera in the walls and everything. Pipes were dry, only the floor/ceiling was wet. Turned the water back on – no leaks.
One of the tenants splashed a lot of water out while taking a shower and it drained through the floor, which then drained through the kitchen. All that for nothing, and now I have to repair a hole in the wall. Argh! At least the plumber didn’t charge me anything since we had a hot water tank installed by them on Monday. (thank you!!!!!!)

So, then I had another appointment to be at, and just went through Dunkin Donuts drive through to get a nonfat latte so I wouldn’t be starving. No donuts!! Yay!
I was really hungry after I got done with the next house (inspection), but made it home and fixed a quick on plan dinner. Thank you NS!

A four hour unexpected detour in my day that could have really derailed me. 2 Dunkin Donuts and 2 McDonalds were on the roads I went on today.

Today’s stats:

Calorie goal: 1,400 • Consumed: 1,316 • Burned: 220
Net calories: 1,096
C/P/F ratio 58/25/18 (a little weird)

Weigh in day!

Lost 1.2 pounds! Yay!!! Slow and steady wins the race. That’s 83.6 pounds total, for those keeping track.

Wednesday is a designated bagel day, we went to Dunkin Donuts and I wanted to see if they had their new multigrain bagel available. They did and I had one! They are really big, I have to say. 410 calories worth!! And that doesn’t count the cream cheese. Only 10 grams of fat and I think there is 9 grams of fiber?
Half a bagel would certainly be a fine serving, although asking me to just eat half a bagel is like asking someone to give up their car. Not gonna happen. That’s okay, though – calorie counting today and I am at 1350 out of 1500 so I can still have a small evening snack if I need it.

I really can’t wait until the weather clears up so that I can get my bike out. We had a lot of rain last night through today, and coupled with several feet of snow – there is nowhere for the water to go! Ugh. At least it wasn’t more snow, though!!
