Weekend vacation

Leaving today for a weekend in Vermont. Kind of for my birthday and little mini vacation. Jazz festival going on.
We are going to bring the bikes and ride around downtown Burlington and along Lake Champlain. It is supposed to be pretty hot, low 90s – but I am looking so forward to this trip! Going to eat fairly well controlled, no pigging out or going overboard, that means packing some bars and my own snacks.

So, I already got done my bowflex exercise

Bowflex workout
Incline Chest fly: 3 sets 10 reps 30 pounds
Tricep kickback: 3 sets 10 reps 25 pounds
Seated bicep curls: 3 sets 10 reps 30 pounds
Lying shoulder pullover: 3 sets 10 reps 25 pounds
Front raise: 3 sets 10 reps 25 pounds

Abs: – reverse crunch: 3 sets 10 reps

And did my cardio: Hard Core Fusion from The Firm. That is one tough workout – 55 minutes. I think it is harder than jogging for 2 miles!

All that done and I am ready to relax!!

Tomorrow is weigh in day!

Hopefully a loss tomorrow. I have been checking my weight every day for the last week, and will post what that looked like tomorrow. It was definitely interesting. I understand why daily weighing can drive you crazy!!

Did my upper body bowflex (okay I always write blowflex and have to correct that. Why is that???) workout today. Then The Firm Cardio Overdrive. Nice workout. I can’t decide if that one or Hard Core Fusion is my favorite.

The weekend!!

Happy Friday!
Ate a bit too much for Valentine’s dinner last night, but not that bad. We shared a special meal deal of a split lobster with a petite filet mignon on the side. I didn’t care for the stuffing on the lobster – I don’t like a lot of gunk on my seafood. So, I pulled that off and ate the tail and claw. Yum! The petite meat was probably 4-5 ounces worth. Which is actually bigger than a normal portion for me. There was a side of asparagus and mashed potatoes (which I ate!).
So, a larger meal than normal – but not outlandish. We went out for coffee after that and I had an americano with some skim milk. Plus 3 bites of DH’s dessert bar.

Today I did hi def sculpt and increased the weights a bit. No problem there. Not sure if I will feel anything tomorrow or not.

My alternating days of NS and nonNS are actually turning out to be a bit different. I have been doing breakfast and lunch on my own and an NS dinner one day, then NS breakfast and lunch with dinner on my own the other day. I’ll be curious to see what weigh in brings next week.

Measurements and oat fiber

Took measurements after my 10 Firm workouts. I was surprised at the results, seeing as I already worked out everyday before starting the Firm.

I lost 7.5 inches! 2 inches off my waist, 1.5 inches off my hips (yay!!) and inch off my thigh. Really surprised to see reduction there. I do like these workouts, and I have a ways to go before I am up to full speed on them. Definitely keeping those in my rotation.

My experiment to recreate the nutrisystem pancakes

Bisquick heart smart – 1/3 cup cal 140 fat 3 carb 27 protein 3
Oat Fiber – Honeyville cal 0 fat 0 carb 10 protein 0
Protein Powder Puritan Pride cal 28 fat 0 carb 0 protein 6
1% Milk cal 44 fat 1 carb 5 protein 4

Totals 212 4 42 13 + 10 gr of fiber

NS pancakes with milk added
Totals 145 1 34 11 + 12 grams of fiber

So, a little higher in calories, but the other stats look pretty good. They tasted fine. Less sweet than the NS ones, which is good. I don’t like artificial sweeteners. Very dense pancakes, I have to say – I am going to be full for hours!

The Firm

Yesterday I did the Hard Core Fusion workout. This was more difficult to follow as the pace is faster and the moves change quick. Definitely need to do it a few more times just to get the rhythm down. I liked the weight/cardio combo.

Still not working up a big sweat and I don’t know why. This workout was 55 minutes long, and you would think a drop of sweat might pop out along the way! Maybe it was just because it’s cold inside.
I do feel the workout in my triceps today. Some soreness there, but not a lot. Today is a Firm rest day, so I will do some other cardio.

The Firm

I got the Firm Transfirmation weight set…. finally! I had ordered it December 26th, and it arrived on the 25th of January. Geez Louise that took forever.
Anyway, I am happy it’s here.

The High Def Sculpt is a nice workout. I added the weights right off the bat, since I work with a lot of heavy stuff. Today was the second time around with that workout.
I did not care for Cardio party. It wasn’t much of a party – really, they were very much automatons. I will to WATP or something else on the recommended cardio days.

I love working out with the weights, though! You can change them up to be as heavy or light as you want. They are very easy to hold. I am curious as to what changes are going to happen after 10 workouts. There is a guarantee that you will see changes after just 10, so I did the measurements!
