Weigh in day – props to DH!!

I pretty much maintained this week. John, on the other hand, made it to Onederland!!! Kudos to him, and I am so proud of him! Although a bit jealous of his success LOL!

The fire alarm went off at the Y today. I was about 1.5 miles into a run, and the alarm went off. They made us go outside! eeeeek!! It was really cold, especially since I was sweaty. Not sure how the pool people were handled in the front. We went to building across the lot and stood in their lobby for about 15 minutes until we got the all clear.
Then I came back and did another 1.5 miles.

I swam for 10 minutes, which was about 8 laps. I am very slow with swimming, but I am just really finding my comfort zone now. I think I am going to swim on my back for the tri – since I am most comfortable with that and use my legs much less (need to save those for the bike and run). We’ll see.

Weigh in day!

Well, I lost 0.2 pounds this week. At least it wasn’t a gain! Guess I have settled myself into a little plateau here. Probably somewhat self-induced. Need to tighten up the weekends. There is a bit of that complacency because I am kind of happy where I am.

Onward and downward!

Weigh in day!

Well, as I suspected – I am now up on the scale. 141.6 – going the wrong way! Some of that is water weight, but really a wake up call to tighten things up. Also – my body really seems to like to hover right here.

I ate really well today, so it’s a start.

Just so much going on with the new job training, getting tenants signed up for my rental, and just general stuff, you know? But those are all excuses, and convenient ones!

Someone posted on a message board a very wise and apt saying something like: “There are those times when we are going to turn towards food, as long as we are able to turn away again, we’ll be okay”.

Weigh in day!

I lost again this week! I was a bit surprised since I lost a whole bunch of water weight last week after my trip. Usually I stall after a big loss.

I lost 1.0 pounds, and I’m back in the 130s (cheer, cheer!!). Wonder if my little snail is getting dizzy going back and forth?

Sitting here looking out the window at all the snow piling up, 8-16 inches forecast, and we have at least 6 right now. So, we all know what cardio I will be doing!

I’ve decided to go ahead and order the Go Wear fit. I’ll let you all know what happens!

Weigh in day!

Well, I got rid of a *lot* of my vacation water weight. I don’t know if I posted it last week, in my rush to get up my New Orleans photos I think I forgot to put in my weight. So to recap:

Last Wed, I weighed myself ( which was the morning after I got back from my trip – maybe not a great idea), and my weight was 147.4. Pre-vacation weight was 138.6. So 4 days in N’awlins showed an uptick (upleap!) of 8.8 pounds! I didn’t really freak out, because I knew that most of that was water weight.

Today I weighed in at 140.0 – so 7.4 pounds of that gain left in 1 week. Wouldn’t it be great to lose that fast all the time! I’m actually pretty shocked at how fast it dropped, as that is not like my usual turtle self, but I am in no way complaining!

So, next week I should be back in the 130s (whew) and progressing to goal. My little 5 pound snail keeps going back and forth LOL!

Weigh in day!

Well – I lost 1.2 pounds this week! Yay!
Sort of longingly looking at the 130s, knowing that after this weekend in New Orleans, I expect to be back in the 140s for a bit. Laissez les bonnes temps roulez, right?

Weigh in day! Last one of 2008

Weigh in day on the last day of the year. That worked out well! I gained, but I am still in the 130s (just barely). I’ll take it, compared to how much the scale was up the day after Christmas!

So – basically a net 0 for the month of December, but that’s okay! I’m in the 130s. Reflecting back on a year ago, I weighed 172 at the end of 2007. That’s a little over 30 pounds lost in the last year. Not too shabby!

Got up early-ish this morning and took my mother down to the Y and worked out with my sister and the nieces. We started out in the pool. I have a lot of work to do in order to be able to swim 12 laps (the distance for the triathlon). You would think all my strength training would make it easy – but the water resistance is tiring! I also have to practice just using my arms only – since I need to save my legs for biking and running.

We popped in and out of the whirlpool, sauna (hot!) and steam room (hotter!!). It was fun to be in the toasty whirlpool looking outside at the snow piling up.

Then mom and I hit some weight machines for a while. I worked a little bit of my whole body, rather than just upper or lower, since I used whatever machine was next. That means no strength training tomorrow. Nothing like getting off schedule 😀

Then we went out for lattes and a snack at a wonderful new cafe. Good stuff. What a fun way to spend New Year’s Eve!

John and I are going to chill at home tonight. Cold, snowy, and windy – perfect movie night to ring in the New Year.

Tomorrow I will post about my goals and reflect a bit on the past year. Have a safe and happy holiday, and see you next year!!

Weigh in day!

I lost 0.6 – the little snail keeps moving! I now weigh 138.8. Firmly in the 130s with a bit of breathing room.

That’s 111.2 pounds down, 3.8 to go. It will be about 5 years in January since I have been working on this, with some ups and downs. I kind of feel like I am maintaining now, since the losses are so slow – and I am pretty (fairly) comfortable with what I am doing.

Weigh in day!

I lost 0.4 pounds this week. That means any ugliness from Thanksgiving disappeared along with a little extra! WooHoo!!

I am slowly sinking further into the 130s, and this really is keeping me totally motivated, or hyper, or something. Or maybe that’s the latte talking……
