Happy Leap Day!

It’s the weekend and the last day of February. Of course, in keeping with the rest of the winter – March is going to come in like a lion. More snow!!!!

I was going to work out with the Firm today, but my arm is sore from donating blood yesterday. The tech had to adjust the needle, which is always a bit owie, and I have a bruise today. Decided working with weights might not be a great idea 🙂 So I just did a WATP tape.

Had the yummy apple cinnamon scone from Nutrisystem for breakfast. Jeez that is good. Most foods I am finding I can recreate on my own, but that one is going to take some work on!
Maybe some type of scone recipe with the Bisquick heart smart.

Snow, snow, snow!

Well, it has been snowing all day, and will do so throughout the night. Been flexing my back muscles to get ready for shoveling! We have a snow blower, but my flip house is done by hand, don’t want to drag a snowblower in the car.

Today was my own foods day:

Breakfast:
My super pancakes with bisquick heart smart, oat fiber and protein powder topped with blueberries
1% milk

Lunch:
Zone Cinnamon roll bar (jeez I love these!)
1 ounce of roasted chicken breast
2 clementines

Snack
1% latte
1 tablespoon of dark chocolate chips (80 calories in those suckers!)

Dinner
1/3 ounce cashews
1 cup broccoli
2 slices of light wheat bread (70 calories)
3 ounces of chicken breast
1/4 cup of fat free chicken gravy
1/2 cup applesauce

Dessert:
NS almond biscotti. Not my own food, but I have extra desserts – and this one is broken into pieces, so going to eat it.

Weigh in day is tomorrow! Hope it is good!

Sunny weather

So nice to see the sun today. Of course, I had to snow shovel *again* !! Lots of snow this year.

Good on plan day today. It was an all Nutrisystem food day. I had a yummy breakfast. I chopped up and apple and sauteed it with some ICBINB spray, a tsp of cinnamon honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Served along side the apple scone, toasted. So yummy and filling!

Weigh in is tomorrow

Weigh in tomorrow. Not expecting a huge loss. Things are slowing down a bit, it seems. I am so pleased with how I feel from the Firm workouts. My jeans are looser already (the new ones I bought in January).

It’s amazing how smaller amounts of weight show up more (or less, I guess it would be) the smaller I get. Back at 250 – 10 pounds was nothing. I didn’t even notice any difference in my clothing until 25 pounds was gone. Now each 5 pounds makes a big difference.

I’m still debating on the reward for getting into the 160s. I went bra shopping over the weekend, but couldn’t find the exact thing I was looking for. Maybe it’s going to have to be new jeans 🙂

Keepin' on

Had a good day Saturday. Went out for a walk to an open house in our town. I don’t know if I would have walked had a realized how far it was, because it was bitter cold! I ended up logging 13000 steps yesterday, which is cool.

Did my own dinner last night, created a healthy bbq pizza using the Boboli whole wheat mini crust, some bbq sauce, part skim mozzarella and grilled chicken. It was really good. Split one of those with John. A few more calories than a nutrisystem dinner when I added in my fruit and broccoli – but I was still under 1500 for the day.
I like the NS pizzas, but this one was fun.

The weekend!!

Happy Friday!
Ate a bit too much for Valentine’s dinner last night, but not that bad. We shared a special meal deal of a split lobster with a petite filet mignon on the side. I didn’t care for the stuffing on the lobster – I don’t like a lot of gunk on my seafood. So, I pulled that off and ate the tail and claw. Yum! The petite meat was probably 4-5 ounces worth. Which is actually bigger than a normal portion for me. There was a side of asparagus and mashed potatoes (which I ate!).
So, a larger meal than normal – but not outlandish. We went out for coffee after that and I had an americano with some skim milk. Plus 3 bites of DH’s dessert bar.

Today I did hi def sculpt and increased the weights a bit. No problem there. Not sure if I will feel anything tomorrow or not.

My alternating days of NS and nonNS are actually turning out to be a bit different. I have been doing breakfast and lunch on my own and an NS dinner one day, then NS breakfast and lunch with dinner on my own the other day. I’ll be curious to see what weigh in brings next week.

Officially on every other day

Okay, I got my nutrisystem delivery today. Got my 70 pound bear, too! So cute. I set my autoship to 8 weeks. I am now going to do every other day of my own foods, keeping my calories to 1500 or less.

It is taking some real planning to do this, but I am now ready. I really like the new pancakes I make with the Heartsmart, oat fiber and protein powder. They are so filling!

The Firm workouts are also going well. Tomorrow is weigh in day, not sure what to expect, but I have my fingers crossed to reach the 160s. I will feel as though my plateau will really be broken at that point. Even though the plateau really was a couple years ago LOL! I will be past the decade I got stuck in before. Silly, I know – but the 170s are a really mental block for me.

Measurements and oat fiber

Took measurements after my 10 Firm workouts. I was surprised at the results, seeing as I already worked out everyday before starting the Firm.

I lost 7.5 inches! 2 inches off my waist, 1.5 inches off my hips (yay!!) and inch off my thigh. Really surprised to see reduction there. I do like these workouts, and I have a ways to go before I am up to full speed on them. Definitely keeping those in my rotation.

My experiment to recreate the nutrisystem pancakes

Bisquick heart smart – 1/3 cup cal 140 fat 3 carb 27 protein 3
Oat Fiber – Honeyville cal 0 fat 0 carb 10 protein 0
Protein Powder Puritan Pride cal 28 fat 0 carb 0 protein 6
1% Milk cal 44 fat 1 carb 5 protein 4

Totals 212 4 42 13 + 10 gr of fiber

NS pancakes with milk added
Totals 145 1 34 11 + 12 grams of fiber

So, a little higher in calories, but the other stats look pretty good. They tasted fine. Less sweet than the NS ones, which is good. I don’t like artificial sweeteners. Very dense pancakes, I have to say – I am going to be full for hours!

Weigh in day!

Well, I lost 1.8 pounds to put me exactly at 170. I was going to cut off my hair to give myself another ounce to get into the next decade LOL!

I have been struggling the last couple days with food. Not sure if it is PMS or what, but I find myself starting to mindlessly eat. We have some Sun chips and reduced fat potato chips left in the house from the super bowl, so it is tempting to nibble on those. I have just been really hungry. Might be from the Firm workouts. There was an extra workout this week on the Firm calender, and the Cardio Overdrive workout was really intense! Geez, it went so fast – but I got through it without falling over, which was good 🙂

I am getting my next NS order on Monday, I think. I am now going to switch over to every other day with NS foods. A little nervous – but I know I can do it!

Cool product

I am researching and planning recipes for going on to my own foods. I really like the Nutrisystem pancakes, they are full of protein and fiber and not to many calories. I wondered how they did it.
Well, the dietician said it was oat fiber, so I searched online and found this:

Honeyville

It’s used to add fiber without calories. An ounce has 26 grams of fiber and only 5 calories!! So, I will add some of this and some protein powder to Bisquick Heartsmart to make my own version of NS pancakes. A little higher in calories, but not too much. Plus – no artificial sweetener!
